The reader is manufactured using high-quality materials and features three high-intensity LEDs. It consists of two main parts: the reader and the insert.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo standard types of insert are available – glass and stone. We can supply the insert dimensions to allow the use of other non-metal materials (see the insert drawing in the web links box on this page). This offers limitless possibilities for installing a reader that truly complements its environment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reader itself is also available in three finishes. Please note, the proximity architectural reader inserts are sold separately and are not supplied with the reader. We have added Genuine HID Technology to the majority of our readers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey can now read HID 125kHz proximity tokens when licensed with an activation card. If required, these readers can still be enabled to have Wiegand output via a separate activation card. Installation – The architectural reader is designed to be partially recessed into the wall and is fitted using a backbox that is provided.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe reader is suitable for use with Switch2 and Net2 systems and is wired using the colour coding on the control unit label. Operation – A token is read by holding it close to the reader. Once a token has been read, the control unit checks the access permissions of that user.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAccess is granted or denied as appropriate. If access is granted, the reader LEDs show green.
