Ajax Detectors

An Ajax smoke detector reports to the same hub as the intruder alarm, so a fire alert reaches a phone by the same path as a break-in. The range here is FireProtect 2.

FireProtect 2 combines smoke, heat and carbon monoxide sensing in one wireless detector, in mains-powered versions with battery backup and in battery-only versions for rooms with no supply. Communication is over Jeweller, Ajax's own long-range radio, so detectors report without Wi-Fi and keep working through a broadband outage. Detectors sound locally and alert through the app together, which matters in an unoccupied property.
