Ultratape Products

Ultratape products here are adhesive tapes for electrical, packing, craft and gaffa work, plus two tape dispensers. The range includes 19mm x 20m BS3924 insulation tape in several colours and 48mm x 66m carton tape, alongside self amalgamating, Rhino masking, picture frame, double sided, kraft paper mailing and gaffa tapes.

Choosing Ultratape Products

Choose by the job the tape has to do first, then by width and roll length.

Electrical insulation tape

The 19mm x 20m insulation tapes, such as the 710.305UK in black and the 710.309UK in green/yellow, are British Standard approved to BS3924, BS3887 and IEC 60454 and have flame retardant properties. Colours include black, blue, brown, green/yellow, grey, red and white. For cable work, the 710.322UK self amalgamating tape is 19mm x 10m, approved to BT spec. M128 and has strong elastic qualities for insulation, termination, sealing, splicing and cable repair.

Packing and carton sealing

The 799.054UK, 799.061UK and 799.066UK are 48mm x 66m polypropylene carton tapes with a strong adhesive for postal and shipping use, supplied in packs of 6; the 799.061UK is brown and the 799.066UK clear. The 799.062UK is printed FRAGILE to identify delicate contents. The 799.016UK kraft paper mailing tape is plastic-free, hand tearable and recommended for light to medium carton sealing, and the 799.014UK clear polypropylene tape, 18mm x 40m in a twin pack, suits gift wrapping.

Masking, double sided and craft tapes

The Rhino 710.315UK masking tape is low tack and pressure sensitive, easy to reposition and remove, for stencils, watercolour painting and delicate surfaces. Double sided tapes come in widths such as 15mm, 19mm, 25mm and 50mm; the 799.001UK is a clear 25mm x 33m tape with a peel away liner. The Rhino 799.008UK picture frame tape is a 48mm x 50m self adhesive craft paper tape for the backs of frames.

Gaffa tape and dispensers

The 853.501UK, 853.502UK and 853.503UK gaffa tapes are 48mm x 50m with 35 mesh and a medium strength adhesive. The 799.073UK desktop dispenser takes standard 19mm and 25mm rolls, and the 799.075UK tape gun handles parcel tape up to 50mm wide.

Yes, gaffa tape made to be easy to tear can be torn by hand without scissors. The Ultratape 853.501UK, 853.502UK and 853.503UK are each 48mm x 50m with 35 mesh and a medium strength adhesive, and are easy to tear and water resistant. The 853.501UK is black and the 853.502UK silver.

Which tape should I use to seal cartons?

Use a 48mm carton sealing tape with a strong adhesive, or a kraft paper mailing tape for plastic-free packing. The Ultratape 799.066UK is a clear 48mm x 66m polypropylene tape with a strong adhesive, supplied in packs of 6. The 799.016UK kraft paper mailing tape is recommended for light to medium carton sealing and is hand tearable, and the 799.062UK is printed FRAGILE.

Does a tape gun dispenser come with tape?

Not always: check whether a tape gun dispenser includes a roll, because some are supplied without tape. The Ultratape 799.075UK handheld tape gun is supplied without tape and suits up to 50mm wide tapes on up to 132m length rolls, with an adjustable tape brake. The 799.073UK desktop dispenser, by contrast, comes with a roll of 19mm invisible tape.

Is low tack masking tape safe on delicate surfaces?

Yes, low tack masking tape is made for delicate surfaces, because its pressure sensitive adhesive lets it be repositioned and removed easily. The Rhino 710.315UK low tack masking tape is a multi-purpose tape for stencils, watercolour painting and drawing board work. It is cream and easy to reposition and remove.
