Optical (photoelectric) detectors respond fastest to the slow, smouldering fires that start in furniture and bedding — the type most common in homes — making them the recommended choice for hallways, landings and living rooms under BS 5839.

The range covers AICO, ESP, Espire, Apollo and C-Tec optical alarms, mains-powered with battery backup or sealed 10-year lithium, with wireless and hard-wired interlink so every alarm sounds together.
