Electrical Connectors
An electrical connector joins two conductors, or a cable to a device, so the joint is secure without soldering or taping. This range covers Knightsbridge VELOX push-fit lighting connectors and an IP68 weatherproof inline connector, Haydon DC jack adapters, and a Mercury IEC C14 to C5 adaptor.

Choosing Electrical Connectors
Choose a connector by what it joins: mains lighting cable, a cable run outdoors, a CCTV power lead or an IEC lead.
Mains lighting cable
The Knightsbridge VELOX SN3P and SN4P push-fit lighting connectors take 1.5mm² to 2.5mm² cable and are rated 20A at 230V. The SN3P has 3 pins and the SN4P 4 pins, both with a see-through cover to check each conductor and room for loop-in loop-out wiring. They come in packs of 20.
Outdoor joints
The Knightsbridge JB002 is a 3 pole inline connector rated IP68 and 16A at 450V, with screw terminals, for H07RNF cable of 5mm to 14mm diameter.
CCTV and low voltage
HAY-DCJACK adapters mean camera and power supply leads need not be cut, and the HAY-DCJACK-FEMALE joins a wire terminal and a 2.1mm DC jack.
| Joint | Connector | Rating |
|---|---|---|
| Lighting circuit | Knightsbridge SN3P, SN4P | 20A, 1.5 to 2.5mm² |
| Outdoor cable | Knightsbridge JB002 | IP68, 16A, 450V |
| IEC lead | Mercury 776.249UK | C14 to C5, 10A |
Standards & compliance
The Knightsbridge JB002 inline connector is certified to EN 50262, and its body is made from UL94-V0 rated PA99.

Frequently asked questions
What are electrical connectors?
Electrical connectors are devices that join conductors or leads so current can pass between them without a soldered joint. Common types include push-fit and screw terminal connectors for fixed wiring, inline connectors for cable runs and plug-in adaptors for leads. Choose one rated for the cable size, current and location. The range here includes lighting, inline, DC jack and IEC connectors.
What is an inline cable connector?
An inline cable connector joins two lengths of flexible cable along a run, so the cable can be extended or repaired without a separate junction box. Outdoor versions usually have a weatherproof body with glands that seal around the cable. Check the current rating, the IP rating and the cable diameter range before choosing one. The range here includes a weatherproof inline connector for outdoor and underwater use.
Are electrical connector blocks safe?
Yes, electrical connector blocks are safe when they are rated for the circuit, sized for the cable and tightened properly. Conductors should be fully inserted with no bare copper showing, and the joint must sit inside a suitable enclosure. Screw terminal joints that are not maintenance-free need to stay accessible for inspection. The range here includes push-fit lighting connectors.
