The Hanwha Vision software licences here include WAVE recording licences sized by IP stream count and a WAVE encoder licence, SSM 2.x central management with recording and ANPR licences, an SSM interface server for third-party systems, AI packs for retail and traffic analytics, AI Tech loitering and intrusion detection, RoadWatch for X Series cameras, and AID channel and reporting licences.

Work out the platform first, WAVE or SSM, then count the streams or channels the licence must cover.

WAVE recording licences

WAVE is a multi-brand video management platform with Hanwha functions such as WiseStream compression, Hallway View and PTZ preset synchronisation, plus apps for iOS and Android. Its licences count IP streams: the WAVE-PRO-16 enables sixteen IP stream recording, the WAVE-PRO-24 twenty-four and the WAVE-PRO-48 forty-eight. Each WAVE licence here includes lifetime software upgrades with no annual or maintenance cost. For an encoder use the WAVE-ENC-04, which gives four video streams from a 4-channel encoder; a camera licence should not be used for an encoder.

SSM central management

The SSW-CH128L is an SSM 2.x core server licence for 128 recording channels, with ONVIF support. ANPR is a separate SSM module, one channel with the SSW-PL01L and five with the SSW-PL10L, and both require IP channels and a recording server. The SSW-TS10L is an interface server that integrates SSM with third-party intrusion detection and access control systems.

Analytics licences

The AIA-C01RET retail and business AI pack detects people and shopping carts for counting, heatmaps and queue events, while the AIA-C01TRF traffic pack classifies vehicles and detects wrong-way vehicles, speed, traffic jams and pedestrians. The AIT-INTRUSION-1CH is a one-channel AI Tech licence for loitering and intrusion detection with virtual lines or areas. The FFG-RW-1CH adds RoadWatch traffic monitoring to existing X Series cameras as a perpetual one-channel licence.

Do WAVE licences need an annual renewal?

No, a WAVE licence carries no annual or maintenance cost, and it includes lifetime software upgrades. The WAVE-PRO-16, WAVE-PRO-24 and WAVE-PRO-48 record 16, 24 and 48 IP streams, and the WAVE-ENC-04 encoder licence enables up to four recording channels. Size the licence to the number of camera streams on the system.

Can a camera licence be used for a video encoder?

No, on WAVE an encoder needs an encoder licence, sized to the encoder's channels, rather than a camera licence. One WAVE-ENC-04 gives four video streams from a 4-channel encoder, and it is also the licence for recording from a 1-channel encoder. A 16-channel encoder takes four WAVE-ENC-04 licences, and each includes lifetime software upgrades.

What does an SSM ANPR module need?

It needs IP channels and a recording server in SSM 2.x, and it adds number plate recognition to a set number of channels. The Hanwha Vision SSW-PL01L covers one ANPR channel and the SSW-PL10L covers five. The SSW-CH128L is a 128-channel SSM 2.x core server recording licence.

How do the retail and traffic AI packs differ?

A retail AI pack analyses people and shopping carts in business areas, while a traffic AI pack detects and classifies vehicles for traffic monitoring. The AIA-C01RET adds people and cart counting, heatmaps, queue events, blocked exit and slip and fall detection. The AIA-C01TRF detects wrong-way vehicles, vehicle speed, stopped vehicles and pedestrians, and classifies cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles and bicycles.

What does a loitering intrusion licence detect?

It detects loitering and intrusion using virtual lines or areas, and it filters the objects it reports by person, animal or vehicle. The Hanwha Vision AIT-INTRUSION-1CH is edge-based AI Tech analytics for one channel on recommended Hanwha cameras, with a software evolution plan for the first year. Its optional dashboard needs a 4GB or larger SD card, sold separately.

What are the AID interface licences for?

An AID interface licence adds channels to a web-based interface that reports and evaluates AID events and statistics data. The A2-AID-INTERFACE-20CH and A2-AID-INTERFACE-50CH bundle 20 and 50 channel licences, and the A2-AID-PCK250-1CH is a single channel licence. Choose the bundle that covers the channels whose AID data you want to report.
