Switches & Controls

Decide what a control has to do, whether switch, isolate, dim or sense, and then find it in a plate range that matches the sockets.

Light switches

Plate light switches such as the 1G SN2000 and the 6-gang SN4200 are rated 10AX. Other styles include the SN127 architrave switch, wide rocker switches such as the CU2W and toggle switches such as the CSTOG1AB, and the CUCARD key card switch cuts power 20 seconds after the card is withdrawn.

Isolators and double pole switches

Fan isolators such as the CU1100 are 10A triple pole switches for an extractor fan. The FP8331NPC and SF8332NSB double pole switches take heavier loads and are rated 45A with a neon indicator.

Dimmers

The SF2192MW intelligent dimmer is rated 10-200W, or 5-150W for LED, and switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes. The SN2161 is a leading-edge dimmer for 40-400W incandescent and 3-100W LED, the 8301AB is a trailing-edge pull cord dimmer, and the VFRKW smart Wi-Fi dimmer module needs no neutral.

Grid, sensors and outdoor controls

Grid modules such as the GDM007U key switch, marked EMG LTG TEST, clip into a mounting frame from the front, and the CUG12 faceplate holds 12 modules. Laser printed rocker covers such as the CUWASH label a washing machine switch. For automatic control, the OS006 is an IP55 photocell switch and the NETPIRBK a 120° PIR module; outside, the OP2 is an IP66 20AX switch.

Knightsbridge makes most of the range; Mercury adds items such as an IP55 outdoor switch and a plug-in dimmer.
