A pattress box decides whether an accessory closes flush or stands proud, and depth is the specification that gets it wrong most often — a switch with a deep rocker mechanism will not sit in a 25mm box.

The range is Knightsbridge with Mercury alongside, covering metal-clad flush boxes for chased walls, dry-lining boxes for stud walls, and surface boxes in polycarbonate, in 1-gang and 2-gang and depths from 16mm to 47mm. Surface boxes come in brushed chrome, polished chrome and grey to match the plate that will sit on them, and metal boxes carry an earth terminal as standard.
