Nittan Evolution is an analogue addressable fire alarm system. This page has the Evolution 1 single-loop control panel, optical, heat and multi-sensor detectors, an optical detector with a built-in sounder and its beacon base, addressable sounders and sounder beacons, a manual call point with a hinged clear cover, input/output modules with a surface box, and the EV-AD2 programmer kit for setting device addresses.

Control panel

The Evolution 1 (F12-83101) is a single-loop analogue addressable fire alarm control panel with a 4.3" colour touch-screen, supporting up to 254 devices on its loop and networking of up to 16 panels. The F12-83101 has battery backup for up to 2 × 7.0 Ah SLA batteries.

Detectors

The EV-P is a low profile photoelectric smoke detector for Nittan FSK protocol panels, compliant with EN54-7, with an Omniview 360° LED. The EV-H-A1R is a Class A1R heat detector certified to EN54-5, with a thermistor giving a static response between 54°C and 65°C. The EV-PH multi-sensor houses optical smoke and 54°C A1R heat sensors together, to EN54-5 and EN54-7, and processes both signals to minimise false alarms.

Sounders, beacons and call points

The EV-PYS optical detector has an integrated sounder of about 88dB(A) and needs one address, and the EV-PYSVAD beacon base it drives adds 12 white LEDs for EN54-23 Category C ceiling coverage on that single loop address. The EV-SDR sounder has 12 DIP-switch tones and is a stand-alone device, while the EV-SDR Base is a low profile ceiling sounder base for Evolution detectors. The EV-AV2 is a combined sounder and beacon, and the EV-HIOP-SB an IP65 high output sounder beacon with 32 selectable tones. The EV-MCP2-IP24 manual call point is IP24 rated for surface mounting and includes a backbox and wall plate, and the CI-NTN hinged clear cover fits EV-MCP2 call points.

Modules and tools

The EV-3IO is a loop powered module with three Class B inputs, one 5A relay at 240V AC, two 1A relays at 30V DC and an integral -ve short circuit isolator. The EV-2I1O has two Class B inputs and a 5A relay at 240Vac, and fits a standard UK 2 gang pattress box. The Nittan plastic surface box, 45 mm deep, takes double-gang EV modules where flush mounting is not possible, and the EV-AD2 kit is the handheld programmer for setting addresses.

How many devices does the Nittan Evolution 1 panel support?

The Evolution 1 (F12-83101) supports up to 254 devices and up to 254 zones on its single loop. It is designed for Nittan Evolution protocol devices and supports full cause-and-effect programming on the panel or by PC. The F12-83101 can be networked into systems of up to 16 panels.

Can a Nittan sounder share an address with a detector?

Yes, with the EV-PYS. It is an optical detector with an integrated sounder that requires one address, and the EV-PYSVAD beacon base it drives keeps the combined assembly on a single loop address. The EV-SDR and EV-AV2, by contrast, are stand-alone devices that are not for use with a detector.

How are Nittan Evolution devices addressed?

Devices such as the EV-PH, EV-SDR and EV-3IO are EEPROM addressed. The EV-AD2 kit is a handheld programmer for setting loop addresses on Evolution detectors, sounder/beacons and modules, and includes the EV-AVADAPT adapter for the EV-AV2 and EV-SDR sounder and beacon series and a universal programming lead. The EV-MCP2-IP24 call point is addressed by a DIL switch instead.

Can a Nittan input/output module release a fire door?

Yes. The EV-3IO and EV-2I1O both have a failsafe option for door release and an integral -ve short circuit isolator. The EV-3IO has three Class B inputs, a 5A relay rated at 240V AC and two 1A relays at 30V DC, and the EV-2I1O has two Class B inputs and a 5A relay at 240Vac.
