Texecom Back Plates

A Texecom backplate is the wall-mounted rear of an Odyssey bell box; live versions hold the sounder and strobe electronics, and the FCA-0086 is sold as the backplate only, with covers sold separately. Choosing Texecom Back Plates

Match the backplate to the Odyssey model and cover you already have, then choose a live, economy, wireless or dummy back.

Live backplates

Live backplates such as the FCC-1111, FCE-0042 and FCA-0086 give 115dB at 1m with IP65 sealed electronics. The FCC-1111 for the Odyssey 3 has twin piezo sounders, screw, lid and wall tamper and selectable SAB/SCB mode, and is certified to PD6662:2017 Grade 3 Class IV. The FCE-0042 for the Odyssey 5 conforms to PD6662:2010 Grade 3 Class IV, and the FCA-0086 for the Odyssey 1 carries a Grade 3 security rating. The FCB-0065 is the horizontally mounted Odyssey 2 back, and the FCF-0004 fits the Odyssey 5 Compact.

Economy E backplates

Economy backplates such as the FCA-0087, FCC-1112 and FCE-0043 give 109dB at 1m with IP44 electronics and wall tamper detection. Others include the FCB-0066 for the horizontal Odyssey 2E, the FCF-0005 with a single piezo sounder for the Odyssey 5E, and the FCD-0262, a clear Grade 2 backplate for the Odyssey 4E.

Ricochet wireless backplates

The GBP-0001, GBQ-0001, GBR-0001 and GBS-0001 are 868MHz wireless backs for the Odyssey 1-W, 2-W, 3-W and 4-W, listed to PD6662:2010, EN50131-4 and EN50131-5-3; the GBP-0001, GBR-0001 and GBS-0001 are Grade 2, Class IV. Each has a 105dB(A) piezo sounder, a high brightness LED strobe and IP65 sealed electronics, and runs on 8 x AA lithium batteries, included, for 2 to 5 years.

Dummy backplates

A dummy back has no working sounder and makes an imitation bell box for visual deterrence. The FCA-0060 is the Odyssey 1 dummy and needs a cover to complete it, the FCB-0049 suits the Odyssey 2, the FCD-0269 accepts Odyssey 4 lids and the FCE-0033 accepts Odyssey 5 lids. The FCF-0080 is the Odyssey 5 Compact dummy.

The GBQ-0001 works on 868MHz and has a 105dB(A) piezo sounder, a high brightness LED strobe and wall and lid tamper.

Do I need a separate cover for a backplate?

Yes for backplates sold on their own, such as the FCA-0086 and FCA-0060. The FCA-0086 Odyssey 1 live back is the backplate only, with covers sold separately, and the FCA-0060 dummy requires a cover to complete the unit. Match the cover to the same Odyssey model as the back; Texecom covers are listed on their own page.
