Electrical Meters & Monitoring

An electricity meter fitted as a sub-meter is how a landlord, site or workshop bills the power a single unit actually uses, rather than dividing a bill and arguing about it. The prepaid meters here are Metro, MID certified.

Single-phase meters run to 80A and three-phase to 100A, with an IP54 rating on the three-phase unit for plant rooms and outbuildings. Vending is through PayPoint, so a tenant tops up at any PayPoint outlet rather than through the landlord, and remote-read versions report without a site visit. MID certification is what makes a meter's reading legally usable for billing — an uncertified meter can measure but cannot bill. A Haydon inline DC volt and amp meter covers low-voltage 5-35V monitoring on the bench and in equipment cabinets.

Metering is usually specified with the distribution it sits in — see Power Distribution Units. Current rating, phase, certification and vending method are stated on every product page.
