Ajax Hubs & Control Panels

Ajax hubs and control panels here are the control units of an Ajax security system. Every one of them connects over Ethernet and two SIM cards. The range includes smart hubs with Wi-Fi, hybrid control panels that work with both Fibra and Jeweller devices, three hybrid panels for up to 999 wired and wireless devices, and the 22920.40.WH1 Hub 2 wireless control panel.

Choosing Ajax Hubs & Control Panels

Choose by the devices the system will use and by the communication channels the site needs.

Smart hubs

The 160810.362.WH1 in white and the 160811.362.BL1 in black are smart hubs: wireless control panels that connect via Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two SIM cards (2G/LTE). They bring fire safety, intrusion protection, video surveillance, and comfort and automation into one system, with mobile and desktop Ajax apps for end users and security professionals. The communicators and a power supply unit are built into the 160810.362.WH1 and 160811.362.BL1, so setup needs no enclosure disassembly or additional hardware.

Hybrid control panels

The 143575.111.BL1 in black and the 143576.111.WH1 in white are hybrid control panels that work with both Fibra and Jeweller devices. They connect via Ethernet and two SIM cards (2G), and offer remote control and configuration and security automation. The 160816.384.WH1, 160817.384.BL1 and 160815.366.NC (for a compatible Ajax casing) take up to 999 Fibra and Jeweller devices.

Hub 2 and the 4G control panel

The 22920.40.WH1 is Hub 2, a control panel designed for indoor installation only that needs internet access to connect to the Ajax Cloud service. The 22920.40.WH1 supports up to 100 wireless Ajax devices, 50 users, 25 IP cameras or DVRs and 32 automation scenarios, with a radio signal range of up to 1,700m. The 34721.108.WH1 has 3 independent communication channels, Ethernet and two 4G SIM cards, and switches between them automatically in seconds. The 34721.108.WH1 runs for up to 16 hours on a backup battery, uses frequency hopping against jamming, and communicates with Ajax devices up to 2,000 m away over the Jeweller and Wings radio protocols.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better, a 2G or a 4G Ajax hub?

Choose a 4G hub where the system relies on its SIM cards for its main or backup connection, because LTE gives faster, more reliable data. 3G has already been switched off in the UK and 2G is due to end by 2033, so a 2G hub suits sites where Ethernet or Wi-Fi is the main channel and mobile data is only a fallback. The range here includes hubs with either modem type.

How do you connect an Ajax hub to Wi-Fi?

You connect an Ajax hub to Wi-Fi in the Ajax app, from the hub's own settings. Open the hub in the Devices tab, go to Settings, open the Wi-Fi menu and choose one of the networks the hub can see. Check first that Wi-Fi is one of the hub's communication channels, because some Ajax control panels connect by Ethernet and SIM cards alone.

Can an Ajax hub be controlled without the Ajax Cloud?

Yes, locally: keypads and key fobs can change arming modes without the Cloud, but the Ajax apps cannot. Connecting to the Ajax Cloud is needed to configure and manage an Ajax system in the Ajax apps, so a hub needs internet access over Ethernet, a SIM card or, on some models, Wi-Fi. Events during a server outage are recorded in the hub's buffer.

What is an Ajax hub?

An Ajax hub is the control panel of an Ajax security system, which runs the connected devices and interacts with users and the security company. It runs wireless Jeweller devices, and hybrid models also run wired Fibra devices. It reaches the Ajax Cloud over Ethernet, SIM cards and, on some models, Wi-Fi. The range here includes Ajax smart hubs and hybrid control panels.
