Wi-Fi & Wireless Hardware

Wi-Fi and wireless networking hardware for homes, businesses and outdoor sites. The range includes indoor, wall-plate and outdoor access points with Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 models, business and mesh routers, range extenders, point-to-point wireless bridges and antennas, USB Wi-Fi adapters, and mounting parts. Ruijie makes most of the range, with models such as the RG-RAP2260(G) ceiling access point and the RG-EST350G bridge kit.

Choosing Wi-Fi & Wireless Hardware

Start with the job: Wi-Fi coverage for people and devices, a router to run the network, or a wireless link that replaces a cable between buildings.

Access points

Ceiling access points such as the Ruijie RG-RAP2260(G), an AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 model, suit home and commercial use, and the RG-RAP2260(H) reaches 5.95Gbps for high-density spaces with over 500 client connections. Wall-plate models such as the RG-RAP1260 suit hotels and homes, and the RG-AP180P-L fits standard 86 mm back boxes. Outdoor models such as the RG-RAP6260(G) are rated IP68. Wi-Fi 7 models include the Ruijie RG-RAP72Pro and the TP-Link EAP773, which has a 10G PoE++ port.

Routers, mesh and extenders

The Reyee RG-EG105GW-X is an AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 all-in-one business router, and mesh routers such as the RG-M18 2-pack support up to 192 devices at once. The RG-EW1200R plugs into a wall socket to extend Wi-Fi, and the TP-Link TL-WPA8631P KIT extends the network over powerline. Where there is no fixed line, the D-Link DWR-932 is a 4G LTE mobile router.

Wireless bridges

A bridge links two sites without a cable. Pre-paired kits such as the Ruijie RG-EST350G cover up to ~5 km in open line of sight at 867 Mbps, and the RG-EST100-E 2.4 GHz kit can power a remote camera from its 12 V passive PoE port. For longer links, the RG-AirMetro460G has a 23 dBi antenna for point-to-point links up to 15 km, and the Ubiquiti GBE-LR 60 GHz bridge has a 5 GHz backup radio. Sector antennas such as the RG-ANT16S-120 are made for point-to-multipoint base stations.

Adapters and accessories

The Hikvision DS-3WR3X-1 nano USB dongle connects a compatible Hikvision DVR or NVR to a wireless network. The Ubiquiti UB-AM mount sets the tilt and rotation of an outdoor radio on a wall or pole, and the TRENDnet TEWASAL1 kit protects equipment with N-type connectors from lightning strikes and surges.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy an access point or a mesh router?

Choose a mesh router for a home or small office that needs its own router, and access points for a business network with a separate router or switch. Mesh routers such as the RG-M32 cover a whole home, with Reyee Mesh adding more units with one click. Access points such as the RG-RAP2266 are dual-radio units managed through the Ruijie Cloud app for hotels and commercial sites.

Which access points can be installed outdoors?

Choose a model with an outdoor IP rating. The Ruijie RG-RAP6260(G) and RG-RAP6262(G) are rated IP68, the RG-RAP52-OD and RG-RAP72Pro-OD are rated IP65, and the RG-RAP6260(H)-D is a directional IP68 model. The D-Link DAP-3666 is an outdoor PoE access point with harsh weather resistant features for outdoor hotspot networks.

What distance can a wireless bridge cover?

Range varies by model and needs a clear line of sight. The Hikvision DS-3WF02C-5AC/O(V3) is rated for wireless transmission up to 5 km, the Ruijie RG-AirMetro460F for point-to-point links up to 15 km, and the Comelit PAC BASE-5A for recommended coverage of up to 20 km with an external antenna. For a lift shaft, the Hikvision DS-3WF0EC-2NT elevator bridge covers up to 500m.

How are these access points powered?

Business access points such as the RG-RAP2260(G) take power over the network cable from a PoE switch or injector. The RG-RAP62 supports 802.3af/at PoE or DC input, the RG-AP840-L supports 802.3af/at/bt, and the TP-Link EAP783 needs PoE++ (802.3bt). Some also pass power on: the RG-AP180P-L has a LAN port with PoE-out of 48 V and 10 W for an IP phone or IoT device.

How do I connect a CCTV recorder to Wi-Fi?

Fit a USB Wi-Fi adapter made for the recorder. The Hikvision DS-3WR3X-1 nano dongle adds wireless connectivity to compatible Hikvision DVR and NVR back-end devices, in station (client) or Soft AP mode, at up to 20 Mbps to the DVR. It is not intended to give Wi-Fi access to IP cameras, so check recorder compatibility first.

How do I manage several access points together?

Use the maker's cloud or controller platform. Ruijie and Reyee access points such as the RG-RAP2260 are managed through Reyee unified networking and the Ruijie Cloud app, TP-Link EAP models use Omada, and the D-Link DNH-100 Nuclias Connect Hub manages up to 100 access points and smart-managed switches from one device.
