Panic latches and exit devices
The dormakaba 97CFL463630MLR is a 9700 Series rim panic latch fitted completely to the face of the door: the 19mm dead-locking latchbolt engages a keeper, normally surface applied to the frame. The Adams Rite by ASSA ABLOY 940-00-3-7U3-628 is a 940 Series mortice exit device, a life safety device designed to fit into commercial aluminium door applications. The Briton 1438E/R/SE is an emergency push-pad panic latch designed to satisfy emergency exit applications. The Abloy PBE011-EL560 is a single-point mortice panic bar that includes an outside handle.
Door width and cutting to size
The 97CFL463630MLR is made to suit doors 610 to 915mm wide. On the Adams Rite 940 Series of the 940-00-3-7U3-628, the touch bar comes in 5 standard sizes, 600mm, 750mm, 900mm, 1050mm and 1200mm, and all can be cut down on site. The CDVI MSPB is 860mm wide and can be cut down to a minimum of 680mm for fixing to narrower doors.
Dogging, handing and latch retraction
On the Adams Rite 940 Series of the 940-00-3-7U3-628, touch bars can be dogged by allen key to allow passage mode at peak usage, then released to ensure entry by key only. The 97CFL463630MLR has hex key dogging as standard, with motorised latch retraction and a 463 keep. The Briton 1438E/R/SE is site reversible for left or right hand.
Abloy lock package
The Abloy PACKAGE 1P-65MM is a lock package that includes the EL560 solenoid lockcase, the CY326 single euro cylinder, the EA280 concealed door loop and the PBE011-EL560 panic bar with 1/2 handle set, with the DC240 door closer as an option.

The dormakaba 97CFL463630MLR is a 9700 Series size CC device that fits a 915mm wide door and can be cut on site to suit a door 610mm wide. The Adams Rite 940-00-3-7U3-628 touch bar is supplied in 5 lengths that can be cut to size on site.
Can a panic bar be opened from the outside?
Yes, when it is paired with an outside access device, such as an outside handle or a key-operated cylinder. The Abloy PBE011-EL560 is a panic bar with an outside handle for the EL560 lockcase. The Abloy PACKAGE 1P-65MM adds the EL560 solenoid lockcase and a CY326 single euro cylinder, giving key override at all times from outside.
What is a rim panic latch?
It is a panic latch fitted completely to the face of the door, with a latchbolt that engages a keeper on the frame. The dormakaba 97CFL463630MLR is a 9700 Series rim panic latch with a 19mm dead-locking latchbolt, a keeper normally surface applied to the frame and motorised latch retraction. Its finish is satin stainless steel.
