Data & Communication Solutions

Data and communication outlets bring network, TV, satellite, telephone and HDMI connections to a wall or floor plate. Most of this page is the Knightsbridge range: RJ45 network outlets, TV, satellite and diplexed outlets, BT master and extension telephone sockets, modular faceplates and floor plates that take Euro module inserts, and multimedia plates that pair a double socket with modules. Connectix compact data modules and faceplates and Cat6 couplers sit alongside.

Choosing Data & Communication Solutions

Decide whether a point needs a single-purpose outlet or a modular plate that can mix connections.

Network outlets and Cat6 parts

A one-gang RJ45 outlet such as the FPRJ45BC has a single shuttered UTP CAT5e port, IDC terminals with the tool included and a write-on designation label, and it needs a mounting box at least 35mm deep. The MRJ45 is a metal clad RJ45 outlet supplied with its back box. For Cat6, the NETCAT6WH is a UTP CAT6 RJ45 module for Euro faceplates, the NETRJC6 is an in-line coupler, and the NETJ6 junction box joins or repairs UTP CAT5e or CAT6 cable. Connectix compact modules such as the 008-000-001-20 suit walls where back-box depth is a problem.

TV, satellite and telephone

Coaxial TV outlets are non-isolated, such as the SF0100PC, or isolated, such as the CU0120. The SF0140PC pairs an isolated coaxial TV outlet with an F-type satellite outlet, and its isolation prevents interference in communal setups. On modular plates, the NETTRIWH triplexed TV/FM DAB/SAT module is fully screened to EN 50083-2 and takes cable with a 1mm conductor. For telephones, the FP7300PL is a BT type master outlet, and the SF7400MW extension socket runs additional points from the master.

Modular, floor and combination plates

Modular faceplates accept Euro modules of 25 x 50mm or 50 x 50mm: the SF4GMW takes four of the smaller size, two of the larger or a combination. Unused positions are filled with blanking modules such as the NETHWH half blanks and NETQGY quarter blanks. The FPF4GMW is a floor plate with a spring-loaded lid for the same modules. Combination plates put power and signal in one place: the CU298MM has two double sockets and space for 8 Euro inserts.

Frequently asked questions

What are communication outlets?

Communication outlets are wall or floor points that connect network, TV, satellite, radio or telephone cabling to the devices in a room. They can be single-purpose plates or modular faceplates that mix several connections. Plan them at first fix, so cables and back boxes are in place before plastering. The range here includes RJ45, TV, satellite and telephone outlets with modular faceplates.

What is a media socket?

A media socket is a wall plate that brings several signal connections to one spot, such as TV, satellite, network, HDMI or USB charging, often beside a power socket. It suits TV walls and desks where lots of cables meet. Modular plates let you choose the inserts and fill spare spaces with blanks. The range here includes multimedia combination plates with double sockets and Euro module spaces.
