Alarm Panel Modules & Expanders

Alarm panel modules and expanders add zones, outputs and wireless devices to an alarm control panel. Types include zone and output expanders, relay cards, wireless receivers and range extenders, Fibra line modules, speech modules and printer interfaces, from brands including Ajax, Honeywell Commercial Security, Texecom, DMP and Aritech. The Texecom CCB-0001, for example, adds 8 programmable zones and 8 outputs to a Premier Elite panel.

Choosing Alarm Panel Modules & Expanders

Choose a module made for your panel family first, then by what it has to add: wired zones, outputs, wireless devices or a communication path.

Wired zone expanders

The Aritech ATS608 plugs into the Advisor Advanced main panel PCB and supports shock sensors. The Aritech ATS1211E adds 8 inputs and 8 open collector outputs to Axon or Advisor Advanced panels, in an ATS1643 metal enclosure. The Honeywell C072 is a multiplexed zone expansion module for Galaxy panels, rated EN50131-6 Grade 3. The Texecom CCH-0001 provides two iD loops for 60 additional zones. The DMP 711INT is a single-zone expander with rotary-switch addressing.

Outputs and relays

The Aritech ATS626 has one high-current output and gives relay outputs through ATS1810 4-way relay cards. The Eaton I-RC01 relay card converts the four on-board transistorised outputs of the i-on16, i-on40, EXP-W10 and EXP-WCC to clean contact relays. The Honeywell A071-00-02 gives a Galaxy Flex panel 8 additional trigger outputs for third party devices.

Wireless expanders and transmitters

The Honeywell C079-2 RF Portal is a bi-directional wireless interface for Galaxy Dimension and G2 systems. The Eaton EXP-2R is a two-way radio expander for Grade 2 installations, with AES128 encryption. The Ajax 143635.62.BL1 MultiTransmitter Fibra connects wired devices with NO, NC, EOL, 2EOL and 3EOL connection types, and the Dahua DHI-ARM320-W2(868) connects third-party detectors to the Dahua Wireless Hub.

Fibra line power

The Ajax 82132.181.BL1 LineSupply (45 W) Fibra connects at any point of a Fibra line and powers Fibra devices on its output line, with a backup battery that is not included.

Communication and interfaces

The Aritech ATS7340 is a 4G/3G/2G cellular module for ATSx500A panels. The Honeywell C084 audio interface lets the Alarm Receiving Centre listen in on 2 audio channels.

Frequently asked questions

Which zone expander fits an Advisor Advanced, Galaxy or Premier Elite panel?

Use the zone expander its maker designed for that panel range, as zone expanders are made to suit particular panels. The Aritech ATS608 plugs into an Advisor Advanced panel PCB and adds 8 inputs. The Honeywell C072 adds 8 programmable zones and 4 outputs to Galaxy panels, and the Texecom CCB-0001 adds 8 programmable zones and 8 outputs to a Premier Elite panel.

How do I add relay outputs to an i-on, Premier Elite or Advisor Advanced panel?

Fit the relay card or output module made for that panel. The Eaton I-RC01 relay card converts the four on-board transistorised outputs of the i-on16, i-on40, EXP-W10 and EXP-WCC to clean contact relays rated at 1A. The Texecom CCK-0001 is a plug-on relay module for Premier Elite Series panels, except the Premier Elite 24 and Premier Elite 48-W. The Aritech ATS626 adds 16 outputs to an Advisor Advanced panel, with relay outputs through ATS1810 4-way relay cards.

Which alarm wireless expander suits my panel?

A wireless expander adds radio zones or devices to an alarm panel, so choose one made for your panel. The Aritech ATS1238 expands an Advisor Advanced panel by up to 32 wireless zones. The Honeywell A073-00-01 RF Portal mounts inside the Galaxy Flex panel housing to give it radio functionality, and the DSC PG8WLSHW8 converts a hard-wired security system to PowerG wireless.

Can an alarm play a recorded spoken message?

Yes, a speech module adds recorded spoken messages to an alarm, played through a loudspeaker when an input is triggered. The GJD GJD090 Multispeech 4 is a four-channel speech enunciator for intruder monitoring, access control, welcoming, advising or warning. It can record a different 30 second message on its four channels, or one 120 second message, and gives an 8 ohm audio output for a loudspeaker.

Can the alarm event log be printed?

Yes, on a Galaxy panel. The Honeywell A161 Galaxy Flex Printer RS232 Interface has a 25-way D-type plug that lets the Galaxy be connected to a serial printer, so the contents of the event log and the programming details of the system can be printed out. It allows printing of Galaxy configuration and event log data.
