GJD Products

GJD makes external detection and lighting for security and CCTV systems. This collection holds the GJD range: D-TECT, Elite, Opal and Pearl external motion detectors, D-TECT X, D-TECT R and LX wireless detectors, D-TECT Laser curtain detectors, Clarius Plus infra-red and white-light illuminators, LED floodlights, lighting controllers, the GJD710 GSM communicator, IPAnything I/O controllers, and brackets and accessories such as the PMB1 pole bracket and the GJD308 D-Guard.

Choosing GJD Products

Choose by the job: detecting movement, lighting the scene, or linking the two to an alarm panel, camera or lighting circuit.

Wired detectors

The D-TECT 2 GJD300 is a quad-element PIR, programmable to 30 m, with outputs for alarm panels, cameras and GJD lighting controllers. For long, narrow perimeters the GJD350 D-TECT 50 is programmable over 25–50 m and the GJD320 D-TECT 60 over 40 m or 60 m.

IP and wireless detectors

The GJD230 D-TECT 2 IP and GJD250 D-TECT 50 IP run on Power over Ethernet and integrate directly with major VMS and camera systems. D-TECT X detectors such as the GJD450 take 2 x CR123 batteries and have a 500m RF range on 868MHz to the GJD392 receiver, which links 4 detectors and expands to 16 with GJD393 modules. The LX LoRa GJD1230 has a wireless transmission range up to 10km.

Laser detectors

D-TECT Laser detectors use time-of-flight laser scanning to form curtain-style zones: the GJD505 covers zones up to 5.0 x 5.0 m and the GJD509 zones of 10 m x 10 m. The GJD515 covers up to 500m with 20 configurable zones that can send a PTZ camera to a preset over IP.

Illuminators and floodlights

Clarius Plus infra-red illuminators light a camera's scene at night: the IS-8 reaches 132 m on 15 W and the IM-8+ reaches 187m on 26 W. The VM-CW-P gives white light to 114m, and Hybrid IP models such as the HM-8CW-IP switch between infra-red and white light.

Control and mounting

The GJD010 dual-zone controller switches up to 3000 Watts of lighting at night for a pre-set period. The GJD710 GSM communicator sends voice calls or SMS alerts from up to six triggers on a wired alarm panel. The PMB1 bracket fits poles 7.5-20 cm across, and the GJD308 D-Guard cage protects D-TECT, Elite and Opal detectors.

Frequently asked questions

How far can a GJD external detector see?

Detection range is set by the model, and many GJD detectors let you programme it. The Elite GJD023 covers 10–35 m, the D-TECT 2 GJD300 is programmable to 30 m and the D-TECT 50 GJD350 25–50 m, while the D-TECT 60 GJD320 reaches 60 m on a long, narrow beam. For a site boundary, the GJD515 laser detector covers up to 500m with 20 configurable zones.

Can I fit GJD detectors without running cable to them?

Yes, the battery-powered wireless ranges need no cable to the detector. D-TECT X units such as the GJD460 take 2 x CR123 batteries and pair with the GJD392 receiver over 500m on 868MHz. D-TECT R units such as the GJD850R pair with Texecom Premier Elite panels on firmware V2.08 and above, and the GJD630 Universal detector connects to most third-party transmitter modules.

Is there a GJD detector that ignores pets?

Yes, the D-TECT Pet Immune GJD371 is designed for immunity to animals weighing up to 30kg. It signals an intrusion when its two PIRs and its microwave sensor trigger together, and its PIR and microwave range is selectable to a maximum of 15m. It also has an active infra-red anti-masking system and a covert sensor module.

Should I choose an infra-red or a white-light illuminator?

Choose infra-red for monochrome night images and white light for colour images. Clarius Plus infra-red illuminators such as the IS-9 work at 850nm or 940nm, white-light models such as the VM-CW-P reach 114m, and Hybrid IP models such as the HM-9CW-IP provide infra-red for monochrome images or white light for colour, with a strobe option for intruders.

Which GJD detectors are BS8418 compliant?

BS8418 compliant detectors here include the D-TECT 2 GJD300B, the D-TECT 50 AM GJD359, the D-TECT 60 GJD320 and the D-TECT X GJD430. The D-TECT R GJD830R and GJD850R wireless detectors are also BS8418 compliant. Check the exact model against your monitoring requirements before fitting.

How do GJD detectors switch security lights?

Pair a detector with a GJD lighting controller. The GJD010 is a stand-alone dual-zone controller that switches up to 3000 Watts of lighting at night for a pre-set period, and the GJD040 expansion unit controls four lighting circuits of 1500W each. Opal detectors such as the GJD020 work with the GJD lighting controllers to give movement activated lighting.
