Citronic Drivers

Citronic drivers are replacement speaker components for Citronic PA cabinets: titanium compression drivers and a neodymium horn driver for the high frequencies, woofers and sub drivers in 10", 12", 15" and 18" sizes for the low end, compact array drivers, and 10" coaxial drivers for wedge monitors. Each is a direct replacement for a named cabinet or series, such as the CASA series, the C-118S sub or the CM-series monitors.

Choosing Citronic Drivers

Start from the cabinet: its model, whether it is active or passive, and the driver size.

High frequency drivers

The 902.103UK and 902.111UK are titanium compression drivers with a standard 34mm threaded exit, made to couple with tweeter flares in full-range PA speakers and to replace the driver in CASA series active cabinets. The 902.210UK is a 3" titanium compression driver with a neodymium magnet and up to 150W RMS power handling, the direct HF replacement for the C-208 array cabinet.

Sub drivers for CASA cabinets

CASA sub drivers are made in 4 Ohm versions for the active sub cabinets and 8 Ohm versions for the passive ones. The 902.120UK is a 10" 4 Ohm 300W RMS driver and the 902.121UK its 8 Ohm equivalent; at 12" the 902.122UK and 902.123UK give 400W RMS, at 15" the 902.125UK and 902.126UK give 500W RMS, and the 902.128UK is an 18" 4 Ohm driver at 600W. The CASA sub drivers have a large diameter voice coil and a reinforced cone for ported or folded cabinets.

Other woofers and subs

The 902.106UK is a 12" 8 Ohm woofer for CASA or CUBA full-range passive cabinets. The 902.118UK 18" sub driver has a cast aluminium frame and 1200Wrms power handling for the C-118S sub cabinet, while the 902.230UK and 902.232UK replace the drivers in the Neolith mk2 and Monolith mk3 sub units.

Array and coaxial drivers

For column arrays, the 902.237UK is a 4" 30W RMS driver for the Monolith mk3 column and the 902.238UK a 3.5" neodymium driver covering 170Hz - 18kHz for the Neolith mk2 column. The 902.690UK and 902.691UK are 10" coaxial LF+HF drivers with a concentric tweeter for CM-series wedge monitors, 4 ohm for CM active and 8 ohm for CM passive.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the 4 Ohm or the 8 Ohm driver?

Choose the impedance of the cabinet you are repairing. In the CASA range the 4 Ohm sub drivers, such as the 902.122UK, replace the drivers in active sub cabinets, and the 8 Ohm versions, such as the 902.123UK, go into passive ones. The same split applies to the 10" coaxial drivers: the 902.690UK is 4 ohm for CM active monitors and the 902.691UK 8 ohm for CM passive.

What does a compression driver do?

A compression driver reproduces the high frequencies in a PA speaker, coupled to a horn or tweeter flare. The 902.103UK and 902.111UK titanium drivers have a standard 34mm threaded exit to couple with tweeter flares in full-range PA speakers, and the 902.210UK 3" titanium driver with a neodymium magnet couples to a horn assembly in high power sound reinforcement arrays.

How much power can the sub drivers handle?

Power handling rises with size. The 10" 902.120UK and 902.121UK are 300W RMS, the 12" 902.122UK and 902.123UK are 400W RMS, the 15" 902.125UK and 902.126UK are 500W RMS, and the 18" 902.128UK is 600W. The 902.118UK 18" sub driver, built on a cast aluminium basket, handles up to 1.2kW rms.

How do I match a Citronic replacement driver to my cabinet?

The 902.118UK replaces the driver in the C-118S sub cabinet, the 902.210UK is the HF driver for the C-208 array, the 902.232UK fits the Monolith mk3 sub unit and the 902.237UK the Monolith mk3 column array, while CASA drivers are split by active and passive cabinets.

What is a coaxial LF+HF driver?

A coaxial LF+HF driver is a single driver with a high power woofer and a concentric tweeter, giving full range output with phase alignment. The 902.690UK and 902.691UK are 10" 250W coaxial drivers for foldback or PA use and replace the drivers in Citronic CM-series active and passive wedge monitors; the 902.690UK weighs 1.8 kg.
