Speakers and subwoofers

Citronic cabinets are made as active versions with an amplifier built in and passive versions that need a power amplifier. In the CASA range, the 178.112UK is a 12" 280W RMS active cabinet with Bluetooth and USB/SD, and the 178.128UK an 18" active sub with a 600W RMS Class D amplifier. The CUBA 178.711UK is a 10" 270W passive wooden cabinet, and CM-series wedges such as the 178.692UK serve as stage monitors. For larger events, the C-208 line array cabinet (171.208UK) can be flown or floor mounted from the optional C-FRAME support assembly.

Amplifiers and mixers

For passive speakers, D-Series Class-D amplifiers such as the 172.106UK (2 x 300W RMS) are lightweight 1U units, Hybrid Class-H models such as the 172.125UK give 2 x 1200W at 2 ohms, and the QP Series 172.241UK drives four channels at 400W. Do I need a subwoofer with Citronic PA speakers?

Yes, for dance music and live bands, where a subwoofer adds deeper bass than full-range cabinets give on their own. Which Citronic power amplifier suits my speakers?

One whose output per channel matches the power handling of the speakers at their impedance. D-Series Class-D amplifiers give 2 x 150W, 2 x 300W or 2 x 500W RMS in 1U, Hybrid Class-H models give 2 x 800W to 2 x 1600W at 2 ohms, PLX models reach 2 x 1800W RMS at 2 ohms, and QP and D-series quad amplifiers drive four speakers.

How many microphones does a Citronic TU4 wireless system run?

Four. The TU4 quad PLL tunable UHF systems come with four handheld transmitters (171.043UK) or four bodypacks (171.044UK) and a 60m range, and the 171.044UK lists licence-free operation. Does Citronic make DJ mixers?

What size flightcase do I need for rack equipment?

Count the rack units (U) of the equipment and choose a case with at least that many. Citronic 19" flightcases include 2U (171.730UK), 4U (171.427UK), 6U (171.430UK) and 16U (171.739UK) plywood cases, mixer cases such as the 171.715UK combine 2U and 10U sections, and the 171.742UK wheel base takes a maximum load of 250kg.

Can I replace a blown driver in a Citronic cabinet?

Yes, Citronic lists replacement drivers for PA cabinets. Woofers such as the 902.106UK 12" 8 ohm 300W RMS, sub drivers such as the 902.128UK 18" 4 ohm and titanium compression drivers such as the 44mm 902.114UK are on this page; match the size, impedance and power handling of the original driver.

Does Citronic make stage lighting?

Yes, LED stage lighting is part of the range. Is there a complete Citronic PA system in one box?

Yes, Citronic bundles pair speakers with what they need to run. The FLITE-600 PA bundle (300.208UK) combines a 600W mixer, two CASA-10 speakers and two wireless microphones, and MonoSound bundles such as the 300.204UK come with an active subwoofer, a mounting pole and an XLR link lead.

Which Citronic microphone suits home recording?

A USB microphone or a studio condenser.
