Smart Home Accessories

Smart home accessories on this page include Ajax WaterStop valves, wireless shut-off valves that join an Ajax hub, and most of them shut off the water supply on a leak alarm or through automation scenarios. Sizes and threads

The WaterStop DN15 Smart and the DN15 45643.146.BL1 fit a 1/2" line and the WaterStop 3/4" is the DN20 version with a BSPP threaded valve. The WaterStop Jeweller DN25 and the WaterStop Smart Motorised Shut-off Valve are the two 1" (DN25) valves, and the Jeweller DN25 has BSP parallel female-to-female threads.

What closes the valve

Most WaterStop valves here can close through automation scenarios as well as on a leak alarm. The DN15 Smart and DN25 Jeweller take Ajax LeaksProtect or third-party leak detectors as triggers and can be closed from the Ajax app. The DN25 Jeweller integrates with the Hub 2, Hub Plus, Hub Hybrid and ReX. Closing takes about 5 seconds on the 3/4" valve, about 5 to 7 seconds on the DN15 Smart and up to 7 seconds on the DN15 45643.146.BL1 and the two DN25 valves.

Power and battery life

Each valve runs on 4 x CR123A batteries. An external supply of 7.5 to 14 V can be added to every valve, and on the 3/4" valve and the DN15 45643.146.BL1 it turns the batteries into a backup. On the DN20 and both DN25 valves the batteries last up to about 3 years, depending on settings or use.

Local control and protection

Each valve can also be worked on site, with a lever, a button or both. The 3/4" valve adds stuck-prevention rotations and thermal and overload protection, and the 1" smart valve has an anti-tamper mounting lock and a sabotage alarm.

The DN25 Jeweller has a high-torque actuator of up to 8.5 N·m for reliable operation even on partially seized valves.

Can a WaterStop valve be opened or closed by hand?

Yes. The 3/4" (DN20) valve has a manual lever and an actuator button for local control, and the 1" smart valve can be worked locally by button or mechanical lever. The DN15 Smart has a manual on-device button, the DN15 45643.146.BL1 has a control button on its actuator and a lever on its mounting platform, and the DN25 Jeweller opens and closes from a local push-button. Both DN15 valves, the DN25 Jeweller and the 1" smart valve can also be controlled remotely through the Ajax app.

Can a WaterStop valve close automatically when a leak is detected?

Yes. The DN15 Smart and the DN25 Jeweller shut off automatically when Ajax LeaksProtect or a third-party leak detector triggers them, and the 1" smart valve integrates with leak detectors and automation scenarios. The 3/4" valve closes the water supply on a leak alarm and can also close on schedules and arming events. These scenarios run through an Ajax hub, which each WaterStop joins over Jeweller radio.
