Fike Products

Fike products here are fire detection and alarm equipment: control and repeater panels, Multipoint ASD detectors, sounders and sounder/strobes, manual call points, interface modules, boxed kits, flame detectors, and the spares and tools that keep a system serviced. Many belong to the TwinflexPro² two-wire range or the Sita and CIE addressable range. Examples include the 505-0004 4-zone TwinflexPro2 panel, the 604-0002 kit and the CIE-A-400 addressable panel 540-0001.

Choosing Fike Products

Decide first between a two-wire conventional system and an addressable one, then choose detectors, sounders and call points made for it.

TwinflexPro² two-wire systems

The TwinflexPro2 505-0008 lets detectors, call points and sounders share a single 2-core screened cable per zone, which cuts cable runs. The 505-0002, 505-0004 and 505-0008 panels have 2, 4 and 8 zones, and the 505-0004 takes a maximum of 32 Twinflex devices per zone and keeps a 500-event log. The 505-0007 expansion card adds as many as four conventional zones to the 4 zone panel, allowing hybrid bi-wire and 4-wire devices on one system. The 604-0002 kit holds a 505-0002 panel, 7 Multipoint detectors, 2 manual call points and a head removal tool.

Multipoint ASD detectors

The Twinflex 204-0003 Multipoint ASD is set at commissioning to one of seven modes: three smoke modes, two fixed temperature heat modes, a rate of rise mode or a combined smoke or heat mode. The black 204-0003-B has the option of an integral sounder with 90dBA output. For addressable systems, the 205-0003 ASD detector is used on Duonet and Quadnet panels and offers as many as 15 detection settings.

Addressable panels and devices

The CIE-A-400 540-0001 is a two-loop addressable panel with a maximum of 200 devices per loop, a maximum loop length of 2km and 32 panel zones. The 540-0003 loop card turns a CIE-A-400 1 Loop Panel into a 2 Loop Panel. Sita addressable devices include the 403-0006-NC call point. The 323-0001 Sita sounder has 87dB output and a built-in isolator.

Flame detection

The FIK-IR3-AS11 triple IR flame detector detects a 0.1m2 n-heptane pan fire at up to 80m. The FIK-TMO-S01 is a stainless steel mount for small flame detectors.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Twinflex two-wire fire alarm system?

It is a conventional zoned system in which detectors, sounders and call points share a single pair of wires per zone. The TwinflexPro² 604-0008 kit is built this way, with Multipoint ASD detectors that have 7 selectable detection modes. Because it is zone-powered, the 302-0004 Hipoint horn sounder can be installed on the same zone as the Multipoint detectors.

Which call point works on a Twinflex panel?

Use a Twinflex call point such as the 402-0006-NC, or the IP65 weatherproof 402-0007-NC, a 2-wire zone-powered call point. The conventional 400-0007 is not compatible with Fike Twinflex 2-wire systems and is for conventional 4-wire systems only. For Sita addressable panels there are the 403-0006-NC and the IP65 403-0007-NC.

Do Multipoint detectors need a separate base?

Some do. The 205-0003-NB addressable Sita detector has no base, and the 905-0001 mounting bases for Sita Multipoint ASD detectors are sold in packs of 5, with a spring-loaded shorting pin that keeps circuit continuity when a head is removed. The 26-0882 is a replacement dust cover for Twinflex and SITA detectors.

Can a Twinflex panel have a repeater?

Yes, the TwinflexPro2 505-0010 repeater panel connects to a control panel, reports its events and can silence, reset and sound alarms over the network. A maximum of 8 repeater panels can be connected to a single control panel within a maximum cable length of 500 metres, and the 505-0004 panel has RS-485 communications for them.

What are Fike flame detectors used for?

They detect flames from hydrocarbon fuel and gas fires, where a very quick response is needed. The FIK-UV-IR-AS11 detects a 1ft n-heptane fire at up to 100 ft away and responds within 5 milliseconds to fireballs or explosions, and it also detects hydrogen fires. The FIK-IR3-AS11 uses triple IR technology with high immunity to false alarms.

Can I get spares and service tools for Fike panels?

Yes, the range includes panel doors, keys and maintenance tools. The 23-0228-007 is a replacement front hinged door for TwinflexPro² panels, the 09-0026 is a spare key for Twinflex Pro, Duonet and Quadnet panels, and the 25-0046-201 head removal tool fits the Solo poles range for high level access to Multipoint ASD detectors.
