Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors

A carbon monoxide detector is the only warning of a gas that has no smell, no colour and no taste, and it is required wherever a fuel-burning appliance runs. Aico leads the range, with Ajax, ESP, Hikvision and Pyronix alongside.

Battery models run on a sealed 10-year lithium cell, so there is no annual battery change and no chance of one being removed. Mains-powered models sit on the Ei3000 series baseplate and share it with the smoke and heat alarms in the same system. RadioLINK+ versions interlink by radio without cabling between floors, so a CO alarm in a boiler room sounds every alarm in the house. AudioLINK+ extracts the alarm's own event data through a phone, which turns a service visit into a reading rather than a guess. Electrochemical sensing is used throughout, with end-of-life warnings, and multi-sensor models combine heat and CO in one head. Ajax FireProtect 2 and Hikvision AX-Pro detectors report CO to an alarm hub and to a phone instead, for homes, landlords and commercial sites already running one.
