Ajax 63211.167.BL1 Wireless Combined Heat and CO Detector, Replaceable Batteries, Up to 1,700 m Range

What it does

The FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/CO) Jeweller combines a heat sensor with a chemical CO sensor. The heat sensing element follows the requirements for Class A1R heat detectors, and the detector alarms at temperatures above 64°C or when the temperature rises more than 10°C in 1 minute or less.

For carbon monoxide, it alarms when the accumulated dose is exceeded: more than 50 ppm (0.005%) no more than in 90 minutes, more than 100 ppm (0.01%) no more than in 40 minutes, and more than 300 ppm (0.03%) no more than in 3 minutes.

Its in-built siren sounds at 85 dB at a distance of 3 meters and stays active until the reason for triggering is eliminated or until the user disables notification. Sensor life is 10 years, after which the detector must be replaced with a new one.

Where it is used

The device is designed only for indoor installation. It has an IP20 protection class, an operating temperature range from 0 °C to +50 °C and operating humidity up to 80%.

Installation notes

It runs on 2 × CR123A batteries, pre-installed in the complete set, with up to 7 years of battery life. The SmartBracket mounting panel allows adjusting the position of the detector after installation.

It connects to a hub (or radio signal range extender) over Jeweller, with a radio communication range of up to 1,700 m in an open space.

Day to day

With primary interconnection, if one fire detector in the system detects a threat, the hub initiates an interconnected alarm within 20 seconds and sends data to Ajax apps.

Fallback interconnection, where the initiating detector also alarms other detectors directly and all connected detectors activate the buzzer within a minute even if the hub connection is lost, works only on FireProtect 2 detectors with firmware version 5.59.2 or later; supported devices are marked on the package with a Fallback interconnect supported label.

A green LED lights up once every 56 seconds as a power indication, yellow indicates malfunctions such as a low battery, and red indicates fire alarms. The front button runs the detector test, or turns off the sound notification during an alarm or malfunction.
