Data Modules & Faceplates

A modular faceplate turns one wall point into a made-to-measure outlet for TV, data, HDMI, USB and telephone connections by holding euro module inserts of 25 x 50mm or 50 x 50mm. This page includes Knightsbridge modular plates in 1G, 2G and 4G sizes and a 6G plate, in white moulded, metal clad and decorative metal finishes, along with multimedia combination plates that pair double sockets with module space and blanking modules for unused positions.

Choosing Data Modules & Faceplates

Count the modules the point needs, then choose a plate size and a finish.

Plate sizes

A 1G plate such as the NET1GWH accepts a single 25 x 50mm euro module. The NET2GWH 2G plate accepts two 25 x 50mm modules or one 50 x 50mm module. The NET4GWH 4G plate takes four 25 x 50mm or two 50 x 50mm modules, or a mix of the two, and the SF6GPB 6G plate has a 2G and a 4G position. On the NET4GWH, minimum mounting box depth depends on the euro module used.

Finishes and styles

Moulded plates include the white NET range in ABS and curved-edge CU plates such as the CU2G in thermoset resin. The CU1G and CU4G are gently contoured 7mm plates with anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011. Decorative metal plates include ultra low profile plates such as the FP4GPB in polished brass, screwless plates such as the SF4GMB in matt black, and rounded-edge plates such as the CL2GMB in 304 stainless steel. The M1G has a heavy-duty metal clad design with a powder-coated silver/grey finish.

Combination plates

Multimedia combination plates put power and signal outlets in one place. The CU298MM has 2 x 2G double sockets with twin earth and space for up to 8 euro modules. The SFR194SB is a smaller version in smoked bronze with one 2G double socket and space for up to 4 modules.

Blanking modules

Blanking modules close off positions you are not using. The NETHWH is a pack of 10 white 25 x 50mm half modules. The NETQGY is a pack of 10 grey 12.5 x 50mm quarter modules for spacing narrower gaps.

What is a data module?

A data module is a small outlet insert that terminates network cable in a modular faceplate, usually with an RJ45 socket on the front. The cable is punched down onto IDC terminals at the back. Pick a module that matches the cable category, such as Cat5e or Cat6. The range here includes Cat5e and Cat6 RJ45 modules in several colours.

What are euro data modules?

Euro data modules are snap-in inserts built to the common euro module size, so they fit modular faceplates and combination plates made for that format. A plate can hold several half-size modules side by side. You can mix RJ45 data, blank and brush modules on one plate to suit the outlet. The range here includes euro module faceplates in many finishes.
