Choosing Citronic Microphones | Clear, High-Quality Sound for Performances

Match the microphone type to the job, then add the stand, screen or lead it needs.

TU4 UHF wireless

TU4 systems are true diversity UHF sets with four individually programmable channels, an independent 7-band EQ per channel, an auto frequency sweep function, and individual XLR outputs or a single mix jack output. The 171.043UK has 4 handheld transmitters, and the 171.044UK has 4 bodypacks supplied with neckband and lavalier mics. Spare TU4 mics such as the 171.049UK lavalier use a mini XLR plug, with the condenser capsule powered from the bodypack.

Dynamic and condenser microphones

Handheld dynamic mics such as the 173.461UK suit vocal and karaoke use, with a precision-machined metal body, a 4.0m XLR to 6.3mm mono jack lead and an ABS carry case. The 173.865UK uses a high output neodymium magnet capsule for sensitivity and feedback rejection. For recording, the CM25 173.629UK is a large diaphragm cardioid condenser supplied with a shock-mount, pop shield, 3m XLR lead and aluminium case, and the ECM20 is a stereo pair of miniature cardioid condensers.

USB microphones and interfaces

For podcasts and home recording, the 173.633UK USB mic has switchable echo and mute and comes with a mini tripod and USB A to B lead, and the 173.645UK UMK-7 kit adds a spider shock mount, pop filter and articulated arm with a worktop clamp. The 173.650UK USB audio interface takes 2 microphones and 1 instrument at 48kHz over USB type-C.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Citronic condenser microphone?

A Citronic condenser microphone uses a light, powered capsule that picks up fine detail in vocals, speech and instruments, which suits studio recording, podcasting and broadcast. Studio XLR versions need phantom power from a mixer, interface or phantom power unit, while USB models plug straight into a computer. The range here includes a large-diaphragm studio microphone and USB and miniature condenser microphones.

How does a Citronic wireless microphone system work?

A Citronic wireless microphone system sends audio by UHF radio between handheld or bodypack transmitters and a receiver that plugs into a mixer or amplifier. The quad systems use tunable channels and true diversity reception, so you set the transmitters to clear frequencies and sync them to the receiver. Lavalier and neckband microphones can plug into the bodypacks, so presenters keep their hands clear.

What is a Citronic microphone?

A Citronic microphone is a microphone from Citronic's pro audio range, built for live vocals, karaoke, recording and podcasting. Handheld dynamic models suit live use, condenser and USB models suit recording, and wireless systems let performers move without cables. The range here includes vocal microphones, wireless systems, microphone leads and studio accessories such as pop screens, shock mounts and isolation screens.
