Sangamo Thermostats

Sangamo Choice thermostats, supplied by ESP, switch a heating system by room temperature, by frost risk or by hot water cylinder temperature. The range has mechanical and electronic room thermostats, digital and wireless digital models, programmable thermostats, tamperproof versions, frost thermostats and a cylinder thermostat, with many models offered in white, black and silver finishes. Wireless models such as the CHPRSTATDRF talk to a separate receiver, so no cable has to reach the thermostat.

Start with what the thermostat controls, then choose how it is set: by dial, on a digital display, by a programme, or over a wireless link.

Room thermostats

The CHOICE RSTAT1 is a mechanical room thermostat with a relay rated 10A resistive and 3A inductive. Electronic dial models such as the CHPRSTAT have a large dial, a call-for-heat LED and 0.5°C or 1°C swing adjustment, and are ERP class 4, 2%. Digital models such as the CHPRSTATD and RSTAT3 have a digital display and offer comfort/economy or on/off modes; the RSTAT3 LCD shows the room temperature.

Programmable and wireless

The CHPRSTATDPRF and RSTAT5RF offer 24 or 7 day programming with 6 events a day, and the CHPRSTATDPB is 24 or 7 day programmable with a pre-programmed schedule. The CHPRSTATDP and CHPRSTATDPS are 7-day programmable with frost protection, running on 4 x AAA batteries. The CHPRSTATDRF and CHPRSTATDPRF have wireless communication between thermostat and receiver, so no cable has to run to the thermostat. The RSTAT3RF and RSTAT5RF are wireless models with a unique RF address to avoid interference.

Frost, cylinder and tamperproof

A frost thermostat brings the heating on to protect pipes in an unheated space. The FSTAT1 has a tamper resistant cover with an accelerator heater and mounts on a surface or a switch box. The CSTAT cylinder thermostat straps to a hot water cylinder. Tamperproof models such as the RSTAT1T and CHPRSTATT stop the setting being changed by people using the room.
