Hikvision - IP66 Rated CCTV Cameras

IP66 means a camera is dust-tight and rated against powerful water jets, so these Hikvision models can be mounted in exposed outdoor positions. The range covers speed-dome PTZ cameras with 15× and 25× optical zoom, compact mini PTZ domes, motorised PTRZ domes, a motorised turret, a Wi-Fi bullet and a covert camera, and several, such as the DS-2DE3404W-DE(T5), also carry IK10 vandal resistance.

Choosing Hikvision - IP66 Rated CCTV Cameras

Start with how much of the scene the camera must cover and how far it must see, then check power, cabling and mounting.

Speed-dome PTZ cameras

For car parks, yards and perimeters, a PTZ can pan, tilt and zoom onto a target. The DS-2DE4215IW-DE(T5) is a 2 MP network PTZ with 15× optical zoom, 100 m of infrared and AcuSense human and vehicle classification, and the DS-1618ZJ wall bracket is supplied in the box. The DS-2DE5225W-AE (T5) steps up to 25× optical zoom with DarkFighter low-light imaging, IK10 vandal resistance and power from 24 VAC or PoE+. On Turbo HD systems, the DS-2AE4215TI-D(E) gives 15× zoom and IR up to 100 m, and the DS-2AE5225ITG gives 25× zoom and IR up to 150 m with switchable analogue outputs.

Mini PTZ and PTRZ domes

The DS-2DE3404W-DE(T5) is a compact mini PTZ with a 4 MP sensor, a 2.8–12 mm varifocal lens with 4× optical zoom, IK10 and PoE or 12 VDC power. The DS-2DE3A400BW-DE(F1)(T5) is a 4MP PTZ with 24/7 colour imaging, white light up to 30m, a built-in microphone and speaker. PTRZ domes pan, tilt, rotate and zoom by motor for easier installation: the DS-2CD2746G2H-IPTRZS2U/SL and DS-2CD2786G2H-IPTRZS2U/SL use DarkFighter for low light and add an active strobe light and audio alarm, and the DS-2CD2747G2H-LIPTRZS2U/SL uses ColorVu with smart hybrid light.

Turret, bullet and covert models

The DS-2CD2H26G2-IZS is a 2 MP AcuSense turret with a motorised 2.8–12 mm lens, IR up to about 40 m and IP66 and IK10 ratings. The DS-2CV2041G2-IDW is a 4MP bullet that connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and has two-way audio. The DS-2XM6825G1/C-IS(2MM) covert camera is rated IP66 and IK08.

Frequently asked questions

What does IP66 mean on a camera?

IP66 means the camera is dust-tight and rated against powerful jets of water, so it can be mounted outside. The DS-2XM6825G1/C-IS(2MM) covert camera carries IP66 with IK08 impact protection, rated to withstand a 5 joule impact, and several PTZ and PTRZ models here, such as the DS-2DE3404W-DE(T5), pair IP66 with IK10 vandal resistance.

How far can the PTZ cameras zoom?

The DS-2DE5225W-AE (T5) and DS-2AE5225ITG have 25× optical zoom over a 4.8–120 mm lens, plus 16× digital zoom. The DS-2DE4215IW-DE(T5) and DS-2AE4215TI-D(E) have 15× optical zoom over 5–75 mm, and the DS-2DE3404W-DE(T5) mini PTZ has 4× optical zoom over 2.8–12 mm. Match the zoom to the distance you need to identify detail at.

How are these PTZ cameras powered?

Power differs by model, so check it before you run cable. The DS-2DE4215IW-DE(T5) takes 12 VDC or standard 802.3at PoE, the DS-2DE5225W-AE (T5) 24 VAC or PoE+, and the DS-2DE3404W-DE(T5) PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC. The Turbo HD DS-2AE4215TI-D(E) needs a 12 V DC supply capable of its peak draw, max 20 W.

Does a PTZ camera come with a bracket?

Yes for the DS-2DE4215IW-DE(T5), which has the DS-1618ZJ wall bracket supplied in the box. Once mounted, the DS-2DE4215IW-DE(T5) gives a full 360° pan with auto-flip and 300 presets, and it is IP66 rated with TVS 6000 V surge protection, working from −30 °C to 65 °C.
