Smart CCTV Cameras

Decide first how the camera will connect and record: over Wi-Fi to a memory card, over PoE to a recorder, or over coax to a DVR.

Wi-Fi cameras for the home

Fort cameras by ESP, such as the Wi-Fi ECSPCAM and ECCXT2K, record motion events on the microSD card supplied and need no subscription. The ECSPCAM and ECSPCAMPT are indoor models, the ECSPCAMPT adding pan and tilt; the ECCXT2K is a 4MP outdoor camera, and the ECSPCAMFLW and ECSPCAMSLB add flood or spot lights.

AI cameras on a network

TP-Link VIGI InSight cameras are PoE IP cameras that classify people and vehicles, so an alert is raised for a person at the gate rather than a moving branch. The S345, S355 and S385 are bullets at 4MP, 5MP and 8MP, and the S445, S455 and S485 are turrets at the same resolutions. The S345ZI and S445ZI have a motorised 2.7–13.5mm lens with 5x optical zoom.

Colour after dark

Full-colour cameras light the scene with white light alongside infrared. The Hikvision DS-2CE70KF0T-LMFS is a 3K ColorVu turret with IR and white light reaching 20m, and the DS-2CD2747G2H-LIPTRZS2U/SL is a 4MP ColorVu PTRZ dome whose 2.8-12mm lens is set remotely. The fixed-lens VIGI InSight models, such as the S345 and S485, are full-colour too.

Recording and storage

TP-Link VIGI InSight cameras take a microSD card of up to 512GB, so a small site can record in the camera, and ONVIF support on models such as the S355 lets a third-party NVR record them. The Hikvision 2MP and 4K kits record to an AcuSense DVR with H.265 Pro+ compression and storage up to 10 TB.
