Outdoor Lighting

Outdoor lighting for walls, paths, drives, gardens and security. Knightsbridge supplies most of the range: GU10 and LED wall lights and lanterns, bollards, ground, deck, brick and guide lights, spike lights, LED floodlights and wall packs. LYYT adds rope, string, festoon and net lights and solar or battery motion lights, ESP its NH LED security lights with or without a sensor, and GJD two LED floodlights.

Choosing Outdoor Lighting

Choose an outdoor light by the job it does, the weather it faces, and how it switches on.

Wall lights and lanterns

GU10 wall lights such as the Knightsbridge OWALL02BK up and down light take lamps of 2x20W max, and EAMON fittings such as the EA1BB are corrosion resistant polycarbonate. For a finished LED fitting, the LANT1W wall lantern gives 555 lumens from 8W, and the TORO coach lanterns switch between 3000K and 4000K.

Paths, steps and driveways

Bollards stand from 650mm to 1100mm, from the GDL2 garden bollard to the GDL3 post light. Recessed ground lights such as the LEDGL3W sit flush with the ground, and the IP67 WGULED and WSGULED are driveover ground lights. Guide lights such as the RWL2A and brick lights such as the BL5BK light steps and low walls.

Security lighting

ESP NH LED security lights run from 10W to 50W in black or white. Sensor versions carry an S in the code, such as the NH20BS-CL. For wide areas, the Knightsbridge FLPA200 floodlight gives 20,000 lumens from 200W, and the FLTPB twin spot pairs two adjustable heads with a PIR sensor.

Frequently asked questions

What is weatherproof lighting?

Weatherproof lighting is light fittings built to resist rain, dust and changing temperatures outdoors. Their protection is shown by an IP rating: for example, IP44 usually suits sheltered walls, while IP65 or higher is typically chosen where a light faces driving rain or hose spray. Check the fitting's rating against where it will go. The range here includes weatherproof wall lights, bollards and ground lights.

What types of outdoor lights are there?

Outdoor lights come in several types, grouped by where they are fitted. Wall lights and lanterns light doorways and patios, floodlights and security lights cover driveways and yards, and bollards, spike lights and ground lights mark paths and borders. Decorative string, festoon and rope lights add effect lighting for gardens and events. The range here includes Knightsbridge and LYYT outdoor fittings.

What is outdoor lighting?

Outdoor lighting is lighting designed for use outside a building, on walls, paths, gardens and driveways. It is used for safety, security and appearance, so fittings are typically weather-resistant and often switch on by a PIR or photocell sensor. Mains, solar and battery-powered options suit different sites. The range here includes PIR and photocell sensor lights.
