Knightsbridge Screwless Switches, Sockets & Wiring Accessories

Knightsbridge screwless accessories put sockets, switches and outlets behind low profile plates with no screw heads on the face. This page includes 13A sockets, USB and shaver sockets, 10AX light switches, intelligent dimmers, fused spurs, 20A and 45A double pole switches, TV, RJ45 and telephone outlets, modular and Grid faceplates, blanking plates and key card switches, plus white and anthracite wide rocker switches in the CU and PM ranges.

Choosing Knightsbridge Screwless Switches, Sockets & Wiring Accessories

Plan the room point by point, and use one finish code so the screwless faces match.

The screwless look

SF and SFR plates such as the SFR9000MW socket and SF2000MW switch are low profile with a built-in gasket, and the SF2GPC faceplate has a sleek appearance without visible screws. Finishes include matt white, matt black, anthracite, brushed chrome, polished chrome, polished brass, antique brass, smoked bronze and black nickel. Some codes add an insert colour, such as the grey insert on the SFR9000PCG.

Switches and dimmers

Light switches include 10AX 2-way plates such as the 1G SF2000MW, 2G SF3000MW, 3G SF4000MW and 4G SF4100MW, with a 6G SF4200AB in antique brass, and intermediate switches such as the SF1200MBB give 3-way control. Intelligent dimmers such as the SF2193MW switch between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes. Key card switches such as the SFCARDMW are rated 32A with a backlit arrow for hotel rooms.

Power points and outlets

Sockets include 2G double pole models such as the SFR9000MW with twin earths, unswitched sockets such as the SFR7000UMW and 5A round pin sockets such as the SF5AMW. Switched fused spurs such as the SF6300NMW add a neon indicator, and the SF8900AT is a dual voltage shaver socket rated IP41. Media outlets include the SF0100MW TV outlet, the SF0140MB isolated TV and satellite outlet, the SFRJ45MW CAT5e network outlet and the SF7400MW telephone extension socket.

Modular and Grid plates

Modular faceplates such as the SF1GMW take one 25 x 50mm Euro module, and the SF2GPC takes two of those or a single 50 x 50mm module. For a bank of switches, screwless Grid faceplates such as the GDSF006MW go over Grid mounting frames such as the GDS003F, which takes 6-8 modules.

Frequently asked questions

What back box depth do screwless accessories need?

The depth differs by product. The SF2000MW and SF4200AB switches fit a 16mm box, the SFR9000MW socket and SF6300MBB spur need 25mm, and the SF8909MW shaver socket and SFCARDMW key card switch need at least 47mm. For modular faceplates such as the SF1GMW, the depth depends on the Euro module fitted.

Will a screwless dimmer work with LED lamps?

Yes, with dimmable LED lamps. Intelligent dimmers such as the SF2192MW are rated 10-200W, or 5-150W for LED, and the SF2192PC switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes with overload and overheat protection. The SF2192PC is for dimmable lamps and warns against mixing lamp brands or wattages on one dimmer, so keep each circuit to one lamp type.

Can I build a custom bank of switches in a screwless finish?

Yes, with the screwless Grid system. Choose a mounting frame for the number of modules, such as the GDS001F for 1-2G faceplates or the GDS004F for 9G and 12G faceplates, fit Grid switch modules into it, then finish with a screwless Grid faceplate in your chosen finish, such as the GDSF004MW in matt white or the GDSF008AB in antique brass.
