QTX Products

QTX makes sound, lighting and effects equipment for DJs, bands, venues and events. This collection holds the QTX range: portable PA units such as the Busker and DELTA-200, moulded QR series PA speakers, Q and QA series power amplifiers, VHF and UHF wireless microphones, fog, haze, snow and bubble machines with their fluids, LED PAR cans, moving heads and mirror balls, DMX controllers, and the stands, leads and replacement drivers that keep a rig working.

Portable PA and speakers

A portable PA unit puts the amplifier, speaker and microphones in one cabinet. The Busker 178.868UK has a 15" main driver and a 100W amplifier, handheld VHF microphones, a USB/SD/FM media player, and it runs from mains or its internal rechargeable battery. The DELTA-200 178.812UK has a 200W amplifier and 2 UHF wireless microphones. For a fixed system, QR series moulded cabinets such as the 178.212UK (12", 200W RMS) have M8/M6 fixing points and 35mm internal pole-mounting.

Amplifiers and microphones

The Q series 172.055UK is a 1000W stereo amplifier in a 2U rack case with 6.3mm jack or RCA inputs, and the QA series 172.020UK is a 400W RMS dual channel amplifier with balanced and unbalanced inputs. Wireless sets include the 171.817UK, with 2 handheld VHF transmitters and a half-width 1U receiver, and the 171.807UK U-MIC, whose UHF receiver runs from a USB port.

Effects and fluids

The QTFX-900 fog machine 160.476UK has a 900W heater, wired and wireless remotes and an output of approximately 10,000 Cu Ft per minute. The HAZYR-PRO 160.482UK haze generator is built into a flight case and runs from DMX512 or its auto-timer. Match the fluid to the machine: the 160.591UK haze fluid makes a fine mist for light and laser shows, and the 160.593UK low level fog fluid makes a dense, low-level cloud similar in effect to CO2.

Lighting and control

Lighting ranges over PAR cans such as the HIPAR-100, a 100W weatherproof IP65 RGBWA unit, moving heads such as the 150.463UK with 7 GOBOs, LED bars and mirror balls with matching motors. DMX controllers run from the 154.100UK 24 channel mini controller to the 154.105UK, which handles 512 channels across 32 fixtures.

What is the difference between a fog machine and a haze machine?

A fog machine makes a thick burst of fog, while a haze machine makes a fine mist that shows up light beams. The QTFX-900 160.476UK produces a continuous fog jet for 15 seconds on demand. The HAZYR-PRO 160.482UK is a haze generator for conferences, concerts and exhibitions, and the 160.591UK haze fluid is made for light and laser shows.

Which fluid does my QTX machine need?

Use the fluid made for your type of machine. The 160.588UK high grade fog fluid is suitable for fog machines up to 900W, and the 160.591UK haze fluid for haze machines; the HAZYR-PRO 160.482UK is compatible with it. Snow and bubble machines take their own fluids, such as the 160.579UK snow fluid and the 160.575UK bubble fluid.

How many DMX channels do I need on a controller?

Add up the DMX channels your fixtures use, then choose a controller with more. The 150.463UK moving head alone uses 9 or 13 channels. The 154.100UK has 24 channels for small events, the 154.093UK has 192 channels with 12 fixture buttons and 16 faders, and the 154.105UK has 512 channels across 32 fixtures with USB backup of scenes and chases.

What stand holds a QTX speaker?

Choose a stand or pole rated above the weight of the speaker. The 180.195UK speaker stand adjusts from 104 to 182cm and is recommended for up to 15kg. The 180.217UK telescopic 35mm pole extends from 800 to 1340mm with a 50kg load for mounting a cabinet above a bass bin, and the 129.098UK wall bracket takes up to 40kg.
