QTX Drivers

QTX replacement drivers are chassis speakers and compression drivers for QTX speaker cabinets. This page has drivers that replace the main driver in QS and QR passive and active cabinets, QT series woofers for full-range cabinets, and two 1" titanium compression drivers that replace the HF horn driver in QR, QS and QT cabinets. Sizes include the 6.5" 902.536UK, the 12" 902.509UK and the 15" 902.512UK.

Choosing QTX Drivers

Find the series and model of the cabinet first, then match the replacement's size, impedance and power to the driver being replaced.

QS series

The 902.509UK is a 12" driver rated 250W RMS and 500W max at 8 ohms, and the 902.512UK a 15" driver rated 350W RMS and 700W max at 8 ohms, with a 42Hz-5kHz frequency response and a weight of 4.52kg. Both replace the main driver in QTX Sound QS series speakers.

QR passive and QR active

Each QR replacement driver has vented magnets and spade terminals. For QR passive cabinets the drivers are 8 ohm: the 15" 902.518UK at 250W, the 12" 902.521UK at 200W, the 10" 902.524UK at 150W and the 8" 902.527UK at 100W RMS. For QR active cabinets they are 4 ohm: the 38cm (15") 902.519UK at 250W RMS, the 30cm 902.522UK at 200W RMS, and the 25cm 902.525UK and 20cm 902.528UK at 100W RMS. Order from the same series as the cabinet, because a passive and an active driver of the same size differ in impedance.

QT series woofers

QT series drivers are replacement chassis speakers for use as woofers in full-range cabinets, with spade terminals and an 8 ohm rating. Sizes run through the 6.5" 902.536UK at 60W, the 8" 902.548UK at 75W RMS with a 25mm voice coil and 91dB SPL, the 10" 902.545UK at 100W RMS and the 12" 902.542UK at 150W RMS, to the 15" 902.539UK at 180W RMS and 360W max.

HF compression drivers

The 902.503UK is a 1" throat titanium diaphragm compression driver rated 35W RMS and 70W max, covering 800Hz-20kHz, for the QR12, QR15, QS12, QS12A, QS15 and QS15A. The 902.530UK is a 1" throat titanium compression driver rated 25W RMS for the QR8, QR8A, QR10A, QT6 and QT8.

How do I choose a QTX replacement driver?

Start from the series and model of the cabinet. QS series speakers take the 902.509UK or 902.512UK, QR passive cabinets take the 8 ohm 902.518UK, 902.521UK, 902.524UK or 902.527UK, QR active cabinets take the 4 ohm 902.519UK, 902.522UK, 902.525UK or 902.528UK, and QT series speakers take the 902.536UK, 902.539UK, 902.542UK, 902.545UK or 902.548UK woofers.

Which compression driver fits my QTX cabinet?

The 902.503UK replaces the HF horn driver in the QR12, QR15, QS12, QS12A, QS15 and QS15A, and is rated 35W RMS with 70W maximum power handling and an 800Hz to 20kHz response. The 902.530UK replaces the HF horn driver in the QR8, QR8A, QR10A, QT6 and QT8 and is rated 25W RMS. Both use a 1" throat titanium diaphragm.

Are QR replacement drivers 4 ohm or 8 ohm?

QR active drivers are 4 ohm and QR passive drivers are 8 ohm. The active series drivers, the 902.519UK, 902.522UK, 902.525UK and 902.528UK, are 4 ohm, while the passive series drivers, the 902.518UK, 902.521UK, 902.524UK and 902.527UK, are 8 ohm. All eight have vented magnets and spade terminals, so match the series as well as the size.

Which QTX replacement drivers are 15 inch?

There are four. The 902.512UK for QS series speakers is rated 350W RMS at 8 ohms, the 902.518UK for QR passive cabinets is 250W at 8 ohms, the 902.519UK for QR active cabinets is 250W RMS at 4 ohms, and the 902.539UK for QT series speakers is 180W RMS with 360W max power at 8 ohms.

What are the QT series replacement drivers used for?

They are replacement chassis speakers for use as woofers in full-range speaker cabinets and suit QT series speakers. All five have spade terminals and an 8 ohm rating, in 6.5" (902.536UK, 60W), 8" (902.548UK, 75W RMS), 10" (902.545UK, 100W RMS), 12" (902.542UK, 150W RMS) and 15" (902.539UK, 180W RMS) sizes.
