This page has icicle-style sets with 8 sequences, connectable icicle sets, heavy duty sets on black rubber cable with or without a sequence controller, 200 LED sets with a 24-hour timer, battery powered sets on a 6 hours on, 18 hours off cycle, and the 155.656UK, a 45m reel of 1500 amber LEDs.

Choosing Lyyt LED String Lights

Choose by power source first, then by whether you want sequences or several sets linked to one plug.

Icicle sets

The 155.398UK and 155.399UK each have 180 LEDs, in warm white and cool white respectively. Both have 8 static or sequenced programmes chosen on an inline controller, an IP44 rating and heavy duty UV resistant rubber cable, and up to 5 sets can be extended from just one plug. The connectable 155.444UK and 155.445UK carry 100 LEDs each and link up to 50 sets from a single plug, with 1.5m of cable from the mains plug to the connector.

Heavy duty sets

Static white sets such as the 155.404UK and 155.406UK run on heavy duty black cable, IP44 rated for outdoor use, with a 1.5m lead between the mains plug and the connector. The 155.404UK has 90 warm white LEDs and the 155.406UK has 180, while the multicolour 155.410UK has a preset colour scroll. Controller sets such as the 155.407UK, 155.409UK and 155.411UK add 8 pre-programmed sequences, including Combined, Waves, Twinkle and Steady-on, with 1.5m from the plug to the sequence control and 0.5m from the control to the connector.

Timer and battery sets

The 155.466UK and 155.467UK put 200 LEDs on 10m with 8 sequences and a 24-hour timer of 8 hours on and 16 hours off, for indoor and sheltered outdoor use, with 5m from the mains plug to the first LED. The battery powered 155.611UK has 120 warm white LEDs over 9.5m and an easy access weatherproof battery box, and takes 3 x AA batteries, not supplied.

Light reel

The 155.656UK reel gives 45m of light from 1500 amber LEDs, with a 5m power cable, a remote control, 8 lighting modes and 4 brightness levels.

Frequently asked questions

Are outdoor string lights waterproof?

No, outdoor string lights are usually weather-resistant rather than fully waterproof. An IP44 rating typically means the lights resist splashing water, which suits rain in a garden or on a patio. Keep the plug and any controller under cover, and use a weatherproof outdoor socket with residual current protection. The range here includes IP44 heavy duty sets on rubber cable.

How do I choose garden string lights?

Choose garden string lights by length, colour and power source. Measure the run first, then pick warm white for a cosy glow, cool white for a crisp look, or multicolour sequences for parties. Mains sets suit long runs and regular use, while battery sets suit spots far away from a socket. Look for a timer if you want them to switch off automatically.

How do I hang outdoor string lights?

Plan the route, then fix sturdy hooks along fences, pergolas or walls, keeping the cable clear of paths and doorways. For long spans, run a tensioned guide wire between anchor points and clip the lights to it, so the lamp cable carries no strain. Never staple through the cable. The range here includes connectable sets that link several strings to one plug.
