GP Button Cell Batteries
GP button cells power small electronics that take a flat, coin-shaped battery. This page holds two chemistries: alkaline LR44 and LR41 cells rated 1.5V, and GP lithium coin cells rated 3.0V in sizes such as the CR1220, CR1632, CR2032 and CR2450. The CR1220 and CR2032 lithium cells suit clocks, calculators, remote controls for car alarms and backup batteries, and GP sells most of the lithium cells in packs of five.

Choosing GP Button Cell Batteries
Start with the code printed on the cell you are replacing, because it fixes the chemistry and the size together.
CR coin cells
The GP lithium button cells on this page are the CR1220, CR1616, CR1620, CR1632, CR2025, CR2032, CR2430 and CR2450. The lithium coin cells here are high capacity cells rated 3.0V. Sizes such as the CR2032 (656.264UK) and the CR1220 (656.252UK) are sold five to a pack.
Alkaline LR44 and LR41 cells
The LR44 and LR41 are 1.5V alkaline button cells. GP sells the LR44 as the 656.203UK and in a ten-pack as the 656.206UK, both rated 125mAh, and gives it the alternative codes AG13 and A76. The 656.207UK LR41 ten-pack replaces cells marked 92, G3A, GP192, GP92, L736 and V36A.
Keep the chemistry the device expects
An LR cell and a CR cell are not interchangeable, even where two cells look alike: the alkaline cells here are 1.5V and the lithium coin cells 3.0V. Fit the chemistry and code that the device maker specifies, and replace a cell with the same code or a listed equivalent.
| Code | Chemistry | Voltage | GP part and pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| LR44 | Alkaline | 1.5V | 656.203UK; 656.206UK in a 10 pack |
| LR41 | Alkaline | 1.5V | 656.207UK, 10 pack |
| CR1220 | Lithium | 3.0V | 656.252UK, 5 pack |
| CR1616 | Lithium | 3.0V | 656.776UK, 5 pack |
| CR2025 | Lithium | 3.0V | 656.262UK, 5 pack |
| CR2032 | Lithium | 3.0V | 656.264UK, 5 pack |
| CR2450 | Lithium | 3.0V | 656.773UK |

Frequently asked questions
Can I fit a lithium CR cell where an LR44 goes?
No, an LR44 is a 1.5V alkaline cell while a CR lithium coin cell is 3.0V, so fitting one would give the device twice the voltage it should get. AG13 and A76 are equivalent codes for GP's LR44 cells, the 656.203UK and 656.206UK. GP's CR coin cells, such as the CR2032 656.264UK, are rated 3.0V, so replace an LR44 with another LR44 or an equivalent code.
Which battery codes does the LR41 replace?
An LR41 can replace any 1.5V alkaline button cell of the same size sold under one of its equivalent codes. GP's LR41 replaces 92, G3A, GP192, GP92, L736 and V36A, and GP sells it ten to a pack as the 656.207UK. If the old cell in your device carries one of those markings, the LR41 is the like-for-like replacement.
What are common lithium coin cell uses?
Lithium coin cells power small devices such as clocks, calculators and remote controls for car alarms, and serve as backup batteries. GP's 3.0V lithium button cells, such as the CR2032 656.264UK and CR1220 656.252UK, are suitable for those uses. Read the code on the old cell, for example CR1616 or CR2430, and fit the same size.
Can a CR2025 replace a CR2032?
No, not as a like-for-like swap unless the device maker allows it, since a CR2025 is thinner than a CR2032. Under IEC 60086 naming, the first two digits give the diameter and the last two the thickness, so the two cells have the same diameter; fit the code the device asks for. GP sells them separately, the 656.262UK CR2025 and the 656.264UK CR2032, each in a pack of five and rated 3.0V.
How many cells come in a pack?
It depends on the cell, so check the pack quantity for the cell size you need. GP lithium sizes such as the CR1220, CR2032 and CR2430 come five to a pack. The LR44 is sold as the 656.203UK and in a ten-pack as the 656.206UK, and the LR41 656.207UK is a ten-pack.
