C-TEC Detectors

C-TEC detectors cover conventional and addressable fire detection, with smoke, heat and multi-sensor models. ActiV detectors such as the C4416 optical smoke detector and the C4403B heat detector sit alongside CAST and CAST-PRO detectors such as the CA416 and CP416, which work with C-TEC's XFP and ZFP addressable panels. Detector bases, a relay base and a CAST-PRO duct detector complete the page.

Choosing C-TEC Detectors

Start with the panel the detector will report to, then choose smoke, heat or multi-sensor detection and the matching base.

ActiV heat detectors

The C4403B is a Type B fixed-temperature heat detector set at 75°C and the C4403A2 a Class A2 fixed-temperature detector, while the C4403A1R alarms on a sudden rise in temperature or at a static temperature between 54°C and 65°C. All three are third-party certified to EN54-5 by Intertek and have two ultra-bright red LED strips. The C4403A2 suits virtually all known conventional fire alarm panels, including C-TEC's CFP, FP, MFP and EP203 ranges.

ActiV smoke and multi-sensor detectors

The C4416 optical smoke detector uses infrared light and a photodiode, is certified to EN54-7 by Intertek and has drift compensation. The C4414 multi-sensor combines smoke and heat analysis to tell fire types apart and reduce false alarms, which suits accommodation such as student housing. Both run from 6-33V DC.

ActiV diode base

The C4408D diode base is for systems that need active 'head out' end of line monitoring under BS 5839-1. The C4408D has an integrated locking mechanism and head removal tool, and accepts fire-rated cables up to 2.5mm in diameter. The C4403A1R and C4403A2 fit the C4408D diode base.

CAST and CAST-PRO addressable detectors

The CA416 is a CAST optical smoke detector with 0.16dB/m sensitivity, LPCB certified to EN54-7 and 17, and the CA414 is a programmable multisensor with settings for day/night and occupied/unoccupied conditions. The CAST-PRO CP416 optical smoke detector uses C-TEC's MASC and AFFIRM algorithms, and the CP402 heat detector can be programmed as an A1R, A2 or B detector. Each has an onboard short circuit loop isolator. The CPDUCT/OPT looks for smoke in air moving through ductwork, with EN 54-27:2015 approval pending.

CAST bases

The CA408 is the base plate for C-TEC's CAST addressable detectors, with an integrated locking mechanism. The CA408R relay base switches up to 1 A at 24 Vdc from the detector's remote LED output, for uses such as door release.
