Lyyt Power Supplies

LYYT power supplies give the 12Vdc or 24Vdc that LED tape and lighting installations run on. Every supply here is IP67 rated for indoor and outdoor installations, with 12Vdc models from 30W to 150W and 24Vdc models from 30W to 300W. Examples include the 153.744UK, a 12Vdc 60W supply rated at 5A, and the 153.762UK, a 24Vdc 200W supply rated at 8.33A.

Choosing Lyyt Power Supplies

Choose the output voltage first, then the wattage, then check its current rating.

Output voltage

The 12Vdc supplies, such as the 153.753UK, are made for 12Vdc LED tape and lighting installations, and the 24Vdc supplies, such as the 153.760UK, for 24Vdc tape and lighting. Supplies such as the 12Vdc 153.755UK and 153.756UK and the 24Vdc 153.761UK and 153.763UK are for professional use only.

Wattage

Smaller 12Vdc examples include the 30W 153.754UK and the 45W 153.753UK, and the 150W 153.756UK covers bigger loads. On the 24Vdc side, the ratings run from the 30W 153.757UK to the 300W 153.764UK, with steps such as the 45W 153.758UK and the 200W 153.762UK.

Current

At 100W, the 12Vdc 153.755UK is rated at 8.3A and the 24Vdc 153.760UK at 4.17A, half the current for the same power. The 250W 153.763UK is rated at 10.4A at 24Vdc, and the 150W 153.761UK at 6.25A.

Outdoor use and wiring

The IP67 rating on each supply suits indoor and outdoor LED tape and lighting installations. The supplies have 1 or 2 outputs for loop output connection: the 153.756UK has 2 outputs and the 153.744UK has 1. The 24Vdc models such as the 153.761UK also have short circuit protection.

Match the supply's output voltage to the voltage your LED tape or lighting is made for, such as 12V DC or 24V DC. The 12Vdc supplies, such as the 45W 153.753UK, suit 12Vdc LED tape and lighting installations, and the 24Vdc supplies, such as the 45W 153.758UK, suit 24Vdc tape and lighting. At the same wattage the 24V model has the lower current rating: 1.875A for the 153.758UK against 3.75A for the 153.753UK.

What LED tape power supply wattage do I need?

Choose a supply whose wattage covers the total load of the LED tape or lights it will power. LYYT 12Vdc supplies run from 30W to 150W, and 24Vdc supplies run from 30W to 300W. The largest are the 150W 153.756UK at 12Vdc and the 300W 153.764UK at 24Vdc, and the smallest are the 30W 153.754UK and 153.757UK.

What makes an outdoor LED power supply waterproof?

A sealed enclosure with an IP rating such as IP67, which under IEC 60529 means dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water. LYYT supplies such as the 24Vdc 60W 153.759UK and the 12Vdc 100W 153.755UK are IP67 rated and suitable for both indoor and outdoor LED tape and lighting installations.

How do I read the current rating on an LED power supply?

It is the maximum output current; if two supplies have the same wattage, a 24V one is rated at half the current of a 12V one. The 153.763UK gives 250W at 24Vdc and is rated at 10.4A, while the 153.744UK gives 60W at 12Vdc and is rated at 5A. At 100W, the 24Vdc 153.760UK is rated at 4.17A and the 12Vdc 153.755UK at 8.3A.

Which LYYT power supplies have short circuit protection?

Short circuit protection is a feature of the LYYT 24Vdc models. The 24Vdc range runs from the 30W 153.757UK to the 300W 153.764UK, with 1 or 2 outputs for loop output connection and an IP67 rating. Examples include the 100W 153.760UK, rated at 4.17A, and the 200W 153.762UK, rated at 8.33A.
