Two card technologies

The MF1030E mullion reader and the MF1050e keypad reader both use 13.56 MHz MIFARE to ISO 14443A; they read the card UID, and sector data where the correct read key is configured. The MF1030PM panel-mount unit handles ACT MIFARE cards and fobs by sector and reads the serial of any MIFARE Classic card. The EM1030 supplied in the ACTpro 1520 kit works on a different technology: it is a multi-format 125 kHz proximity reader for ACTProx and HID credentials.

Choosing the housing

For a narrow frame or mullion, the MF1030E has a slim profile and arrives with a fixed 3 m pigtail lead instead of a detachable connector, so route the cable before you mount it. The MF1050e puts a backlit numeric keypad beside the card reader for card plus PIN, is single-gang compatible for surface or flush fitting, and sits in an IP67 polycarbonate case with an IK08 impact rating. The MF1030PM is a proximity-only panel-mount unit, IP67 rated for indoor and outdoor use, connected with 8-core screened cable.

One door, ready to grow

In the ACTpro 1520 kit, the single-door IP controller carries its own 12 V DC 2 A power supply and a dual-port Ethernet switch, and ships with the EM1030 mullion reader. It watches tamper and mains, takes an emergency door release (EDR or breakglass) input and supports fire override, so one door can be secured now and the site scaled into a larger ACTpro system later.

Enrolling credentials

The ACT-USB plugs into a USB port and works with ACT Enterprise software, and is compatible with ACT RFID, HID, MIFARE Classic and DESFire EV1 technologies.
