Morley Fire Panels

Morley fire panels here are Morley-IAS addressable fire alarm control panels from the DXc and MAx families. Examples include the DXc1-S single-loop panel, the DXc2 2-loop and DXc4 4-loop analogue addressable panels, which network peer-to-peer, the MA-2000-01 2-loop panel with a 7" colour touchscreen and the MA-8000-01, which has 4 loops in its base unit, expandable to 8, and CANbus networking.

Choosing Morley Fire Panels

Choose by the number of loops the building needs now and later, then by the display, programming and networking the installer prefers.

DXc panels

The DXc1-S has a single addressable loop with multi-protocol compatibility, a backlit 6×40 character LCD with keypad, two monitored inputs and two independent monitored sounder circuits of 1 A each. It is configured by USB and PC, with a Bluetooth commissioning option, and 40/80/160 zone LED mimic cards are optional accessories supplied separately. The DXc2 has 2 integral addressable loops and supports Apollo, Hochiki ESP, System Sensor and Morley protocols, with two monitored sounder circuits, an onboard 24 V DC PSU and RS-485 for repeaters. The DXc4 has 4 addressable loops, 2 monitored sounder circuits at 1 A per circuit and a 6 × 40-character backlit LCD with an alphanumeric keypad. The DXc2 and DXc4 network peer-to-peer to form systems of up to 16 loops.

MAx panels

The MA-2000-01 and MA-8000-01 have a 7" colour resistive touchscreen with an 800 x 480 resolution, Control-By-Event cause-and-effect logic and CANbus networking for multi-panel systems. The MA-2000-01 has 2 addressable detection loops with about 750 mA loop current capacity, an event log of up to 10,000 events and external battery support for 2 × 12 V batteries up to 17 Ah. The MA-8000-01 has 4 detection loops in the base unit and expands to 8 loops with expansion cards. The MA-8000-01 CANbus network takes up to 64 panels / 128 loops, and the panel holds 10,000 historical and 4,000 active events.

Frequently asked questions

How many loops does each Morley fire panel have?

The DXc1-S has one addressable loop, the DXc2 and MA-2000-01 have two, and the DXc4 has four. The MA-8000-01 has 4 detection loops in its base unit and expands to 8 with expansion cards. The DXc2 and DXc4 can also be networked peer-to-peer into systems of up to 16 loops.

Which detector protocols do the DXc panels support?

The DXc2 supports Apollo, Hochiki ESP, System Sensor and Morley protocols, and the DXc4 supports Apollo, System Sensor and Hochiki. The DXc1-S has a single addressable loop with multi-protocol compatibility. Check the detectors already on site against these protocols before choosing a panel.

What is the difference between the DXc and MAx Morley fire panels?

The MAx panels, the MA-2000-01 and MA-8000-01, have a 7" colour resistive touchscreen, Control-By-Event logic and CANbus networking for multi-panel systems. The DXc1-S and DXc4 instead use a 6×40 character backlit LCD with a keypad, and the DXc panels network peer-to-peer.

What standby batteries do the Morley panels take?

The MA-8000-01 supports up to 2 × 12 V / 38 Ah batteries, and the MA-2000-01 has external battery support for 2 × 12 V batteries up to 17 Ah. The DXc2 has an onboard 24 V DC PSU with battery backup connections, supporting 2×12 V, 17 Ah batteries.

What is a Morley fire panel?

A Morley fire panel is an addressable fire alarm control panel from Morley-IAS. The DXc1-S, DXc2 and DXc4 are DXc panels for small to medium buildings, and they can be networked peer-to-peer into larger systems. The MA-2000-01 and MA-8000-01 are MAx panels for medium to large commercial installations. The DXc2 has USB for PC programming, and the DXc1-S also has a Bluetooth commissioning option.

How many events does a MAx panel keep in its log?

The MA-2000-01 keeps a large event and history log of up to 10,000 events, with programmable text, groups and Control-By-Event logic. The MA-8000-01 keeps a non-volatile event history of 10,000 historical events and 4,000 active events, and adds automatic device recognition and walk-test modes.
