Actpro

ACTpro is an access control range of controllers, readers and credentials. This page has the ACTpro 1520 single-door kit, the ACTpro-120 door station for adding a door to an ACTpro controller, MIFARE mullion, panel-mount and keypad readers, the ACT-USB enrolment reader for ACT Enterprise software, and the EM10C4 125kHz clamshell cards in a pack of 10. The MF1030E and MF1050e give Wiegand or Clock & Data output for third-party panels too.

Choosing Actpro

Start with a controller, then choose readers for the doors and the cards users will carry.

Controllers and door stations

The ACTpro 1520 kit pairs the ACTpro-1520 single-door IP controller with an EM1030 125 kHz mullion proximity reader. Inside the ACTpro-1520 are a 12 V DC, 2 A power supply and a two-port Ethernet switch, and it monitors tamper and mains, takes emergency door release (break glass) inputs and supports fire override. To add one more door to an ACTpro controller, the ACTpro-120 door station links back over RS-485 and leaves the access decisions to the controller. The ACTpro-120 carries its own 12 V DC, 2 A supply with room for a 12 V backup battery, a main door relay plus an auxiliary relay, and a surface enclosure for indoor walls.

MIFARE readers

For narrow frames, the MF1030E is a slim 13.56 MHz MIFARE mullion reader. Its 3 m pigtail lead is fixed, with no detachable connector, and its output can be set to Wiegand (26-bit or 37-bit) or Clock & Data. Where users must enter a PIN, the MF1050e pairs a MIFARE reader with a backlit keypad; its polycarbonate case is IP67 and IK08 and suits surface or flush fitting. The MF1030PM, a panel-mount reader for proximity only, is IP67 rated, reads ACT MIFARE sector data plus the serial number of any MIFARE Classic card, and works in temperatures of -40°C to +50°C.

Enrolment and cards

The ACT-USB installs simply by plugging into USB and is used with ACT Enterprise software to enrol credentials and manage who has access. Its supported technologies are ACT RFID, HID, MIFARE Classic and DESFire EV1. The EM10C4 clamshell cards come ten to a pack and are compatible with standard 125kHz RFID readers.

Frequently asked questions

Can ACTpro readers connect to another maker's controller?

Yes, several can. The MF1030E and MF1050e give a selectable Clock & Data or Wiegand output for ACTpro controllers or third-party access control panels, and the MF1030PM is compatible with ACTpro controllers and third-party controllers. The EM1030 reader in the ACTpro 1520 kit also offers Wiegand or Clock & Data outputs. Check the format your panel expects; the MF1030E supports 26-bit and 37-bit.

How do I add another door to an ACTpro system?

Use the ACTpro-120 door station, which expands one door on an ACTpro controller over RS-485. The ACTpro controller keeps the access decision logic and event management, while the ACTpro-120 has its own 12 V DC, 2 A power supply with room for a 12 V backup battery, a main door relay and an auxiliary relay. Its programmable inputs cover door contact, REX, push button, break-glass, tamper and mains presence.

Is there an ACTpro reader with a keypad for PIN entry?

Yes, the MF1050e has a backlit numeric keypad for PIN entry alongside its 13.56 MHz MIFARE reader, so access can require both a card and a PIN. It also has a quad-colour LED and an audible buzzer. The MF1050e takes a 12–24 V DC supply, fits on the surface or flush, and is housed in IP67, IK08 rated polycarbonate.

What is ACTpro?

ACTpro is an access control system built from controllers, door stations, readers and credentials. The ACTpro 1520 kit pairs a single-door IP controller with an EM1030 125 kHz mullion reader and can scale into ACTpro systems, and the ACTpro-120 door station expands one door on an ACTpro controller over RS-485. The ACT-USB is a plug-and-play enrolment reader used with ACT Enterprise software to manage access rights for individuals.

Which ACTpro readers can be fitted outside?

The MF1030PM, the MF1050e and the MF1030E can. The MF1030PM is rated IP67 for indoor and outdoor use and operates between -40°C and +50°C, the MF1050e is designed for indoor or outdoor use in an IP67, IK08 polycarbonate housing, operating between -40°C and +70°C, and the MF1030E has a weatherproof housing suitable for indoor and outdoor installations. The EM1030 reader in the ACTpro 1520 kit is rated for harsh environments, with an IK08 impact rating. The ACTpro-120 door station, by contrast, is for indoor use.
