Morley IAS Fire Alarm Equipment

Honeywell's Morley-IAS range covers addressable fire alarm control panels and the cards and accessories that extend them. This collection has DXc panels with one, two or four loops, the MAx MA-2000-01 and MA-8000-01 touchscreen panels, loop and network cards, 40 and 80 zone LED kits, an active repeater, and communication modules and a loop driver card for ZX series panels.

Choose the panel by the number of loops the building needs and whether panels must be networked, then add the cards and indicators the site requires.

DXc panels

The DXc1-S 714-001-111 is a single-loop panel, the DXc2 714-001-221 has two loops and the DXc4 714-001-241 has four. DXc panels are multi-protocol, and the DXc2 lists Apollo, Hochiki ESP, System Sensor and Morley devices and states EN54-2 and EN54-4 compliance and LPCB approval. All three DXc panels have two monitored sounder circuits. DXc panels network peer to peer with a 795-099 card fitted in each panel, forming systems of up to 16 loops.

MAx touchscreen panels

The MA-2000-01 has two loops and the MA-8000-01 has four, expandable to eight with MA-LIB2-01 cards fitted inside the enclosure. The MA-2000-01 and MA-8000-01 both have a 7" colour touchscreen, CANbus networking and a 10,000-event history. The MA-8000-01 lists 750 mA of loop power per loop, which its listing says suits visual alarm devices, and CANbus networks of up to 64 panels and 128 loops.

Zone LEDs, repeaters and ZX series cards

On DXc panels, the 795-102 and 795-124 kits add 40 or 80 zone LEDs to the lower half of the front door. The 709-601-001 active repeater duplicates DX and ZX panel indications on an 80-character LCD at a remote point. ZX series panels take plug-in modules such as the 795-005 RS-232 and 795-038-001 Hi-485 interfaces, and the 795-068-100 card adds a System Sensor loop to ZX1Se, ZX2Se and ZX5Se panels.

Pick by loop count: the DXc1-S 714-001-111 has a single loop, the DXc2 714-001-221 two and the DXc4 714-001-241 four. Where one panel is not enough, DXc panels network peer to peer with a 795-099 card in each panel, sharing zones, keyboards and events across systems of up to 16 loops. A competent fire alarm engineer should install, commission and maintain the system.

Which detectors work with a Morley DXc panel?

How do I add zone LEDs to a DXc panel?

Fit a zone LED kit: the 795-102 gives 40-zone and the 795-124 80-zone LED indication on DXc1, DXc2 and DXc4 panels. The 795-102 and 795-124 kits each contain an LED board, ribbon cable, zone number labels and fixings, and mount on the lower half of the panel front door. Isolate the panel power before fitting.

What does the Morley active repeater do?

The 709-601-001 active repeater duplicates the indications of Morley-IAS DX and ZX addressable panels at a remote point and allows local control. It has a backlit 80-character LCD, seven front LEDs, a key-operated access switch and buttons for reset, mute, accept, evacuate, silence/resound and self-test, and connects to the panel over the RS-485 peripheral bus.

Are there cards for Morley ZX series panels?

Yes, the 795-005 is a plug-in RS-232 module for point-to-point links such as a building management system, and the 795-038-001 is an optically isolated Hi-485 module for panel networking and repeaters. The 795-068-100 adds a 460 mA System Sensor loop to ZX1Se, ZX2Se and ZX5Se panels, but it does not fit ZXe series panels.
