Hochiki Products

Hochiki fire detection equipment here spans ESP analogue addressable detectors and modules, conventional smoke and heat detectors, detector and sounder bases, loop-powered sounders and beacons, manual call points, the Ekho hybrid wireless range, flame and aspirating smoke detectors, and the TCH-B200 address programmer. The page also carries Hochiki liquid leak detection, emergency lighting and exit signs, and the mounting boxes and brackets that finish an installation.

Choosing Hochiki Products

Check whether the fire panel runs Hochiki ESP addressable loops or conventional zones, because detectors, bases and modules are chosen to match it.

Addressable ESP devices

The ALN-EN (BLACK) is an analogue addressable photoelectric smoke detector with a removable chamber and variable sensitivity, and the ATJ-EN(WHT) multi-heat detector combines a fixed temperature element with a rate-of-rise element and is approved to EN54-5. The HCP-E(BLU)-SCI manual call point has an integral short-circuit isolator, as does the YBN-R/3-SCI base. The TCH-B200 hand held programmer addresses ESP sensors and other addressable devices.

Conventional detectors

The SOC-E3N photoelectric smoke detector suits the majority of existing conventional systems and has drift compensation. Heat detectors include the DCD-AE3 rate of rise detector with a 60 °C fixed element, the DFJ-CE3 90°C fixed temperature detector, and the DFG-60BLKJ, an IP67 60 °C detector for wet or hosed-down areas that needs no separate base. CDX range detectors fit bases such as the YBN-R/6, only 8 mm deep with a remote indicator output.

Sounders, beacons and call points

The CHQ-WSB2 is a loop powered wall sounder beacon with a variable output of 90 ~ 102 dB(A) and an auto shutdown mode. Ceiling beacons such as the CHQ-CB/WL are loop powered with a 0.5/1 Hz flash, and the CCP-W conventional call point is weatherproof to IP67.

Wireless and special detection

In the Ekho hybrid wireless range, the EK-WL8-TRH loop-powered translator joins wireless devices to the loop and the EK-WL8-O optical smoke sensor runs on lithium battery technology. The DRD-E flame detector covers a 90° cone up to and including 25 m, and the FIRELINK-100 aspirating detector takes 2 sampling pipes up to 100m in aggregate length.

Frequently asked questions

Which Hochiki smoke detector suits an addressable system?

Use an analogue addressable detector such as the ALN-EN (BLACK) photoelectric smoke detector. It is electronically addressed, has variable sensitivity and a locking mechanism to its base, and its twin LEDs show green when polling and red in fire. For the base, the YBN-R/3(WHT) is an electronics-free common base for ESP protocol devices, and the YBN-R/3-SCI adds an integral short-circuit isolator.

Which Hochiki heat detector should I choose?

Choose by the panel type and whether you need rate-of-rise or fixed temperature detection. The addressable ATJ-EN(WHT) combines both elements, the DCD-AE3 adds rate of rise to a 60 °C fixed element, and the DFJ-CE3 is a 90°C fixed temperature detector. For wet areas, the ACB-EW (addressable) and DFG-60BLKJ (conventional) are IP67.

Do Hochiki detectors need a separate base?

Usually yes, and the base must suit the system. The YBN-R/3(WHT) is a common base for ESP protocol devices, the YBN-R/6 is a conventional base for the CDX range, and the YBO-R/3(RED) is made for CHQ-WS2 and CHQ-WSB2 wall sounders. The DFG-60BLKJ needs no separate base, and the ACB-EW comes with its own fixing base.

Does Hochiki make wireless fire detection?

Yes, the Ekho hybrid wireless range. An EK-WL8-TRH loop-powered translator links wireless devices to an addressable loop, EK-WL8-EXP expanders extend coverage on a 24 VDC supply, and devices include the EK-WL8-O optical smoke sensor, the EK-WL8-CP resettable call point and the EK-WL8-SND wall sounder. The EK-WL8-SK survey kit is used to plan an installation.
