TV Aerials & Reception

TV aerials and reception products receive, split, amplify and filter digital TV, satellite and DAB/FM radio signals. This page has Mercury indoor HDTV aerials, a portable magnetic mast aerial, an outdoor amplified aerial for caravans and boats, aerial and F-type satellite splitters, UHF/VHF distribution amplifiers with a 5G/4G filter, a USB powered aerial amplifier and a 5G LTE in-line filter.

Choosing TV Aerials & Reception

Indoor and window aerials

The 120.503UK is a mains powered amplified aerial for Digital Terrestrial TV and DAB/FM within a 45-65 mile radius, with an adjustable loop aerial for UHF, two 728mm telescopic antennas for VHF and FM, and a variable gain control. The 120.507UK loop aerial, the paper-thin 120.515UK, which fixes to a window or an outside facing wall, and the omni-directional 120.530UK each work within a 35-45 mile radius. The 120.620UK and 120.649UK are UHF aerials with a double reflector for horizontal and vertical polarity, isolated to BS5373, with a 1.4m or 1.2m lead.

Portable and outdoor aerials

The 120.525UK portable UHF mast aerial has a magnetic base for the roof of a car, campervan or motorhome, a 3m lead and a 30-35 mile reception radius. The 120.910UK outdoor amplified aerial is designed for caravans, campers and boats, mounts on a pole with the clamp supplied, and has a splitter to connect a second radio or TV set.

Splitters

The 122.063UK combines or splits signals from two UHF TV aerials, with one coaxial plug to two coaxial sockets, and the 122.075UK splits wideband UHF/VHF/FM signals from one coaxial plug to 4 sockets. The 122.807UK (2 way) and 122.823UK (3 way) are F-type satellite splitters rated 5-2250MHz, installed between a satellite dish and receiver where more than one satellite receiver is installed.

Amplifiers and filters

The 130.030UK, 130.031UK, 130.032UK and 130.033UK are 2, 4, 6 and 8 way UHF/VHF distribution amplifiers with an integrated LTE signal filter against 5G and 4G interference, separate VHF and UHF inputs and DC pass to control satellite via a Magic Eye remote extender. The 130.057UK is a USB powered aerial amplifier run from one of the TV's USB sockets, and the 130.055UK in-line filter plugs in between the signal source and the TV by F-type connector, with DC pass for a masthead amplifier.

Frequently asked questions

What reception radius do the Mercury indoor aerials have?

The amplified 120.503UK works within a 45-65 mile radius, and the 120.507UK loop aerial and 120.530UK omni-directional aerial within 35-45 miles. The paper-thin 120.515UK, fixed to a window or an outside facing wall, also works within 35-45 miles. The 120.503UK has a built-in high gain low noise amplifier for areas with poor signal strength, and its gain can be adjusted manually on the unit.

Why does an aerial need a 5G or 4G filter?

An LTE filter avoids interference and channel loss from 4G and 5G mobile signals. Aerials such as the 120.503UK, 120.515UK and 120.530UK have one built in, and the 130.055UK in-line filter plugs in between the signal source and the TV by F-type connector, with DC pass for a masthead amplifier.

What does a TV distribution amplifier do?

It amplifies weak VHF/UHF signals and distributes them across a designated area. The 130.031UK, for example, is a 4 way amplifier with a 5G/4G filter, separate VHF and UHF inputs, surge and short circuit protection, a maximum output limiter and DC pass to control satellite via a Magic Eye remote extender.

Which splitter do I need for a satellite dish?

An F-type satellite splitter such as the 122.807UK (2 way) or 122.823UK (3 way), rated 5-2250MHz. They are designed to be installed between a satellite dish and receiver where the frequency is higher and more than one satellite receiver is installed. For aerial signals, the 122.075UK splits UHF/VHF/FM four ways.

Is there a TV aerial for a caravan or motorhome?

Yes. The 120.910UK outdoor amplified aerial is designed for caravans, campers and boats and comes with mounting materials, a 6m connection cable and a power supply. The 120.525UK portable mast aerial has a magnetic base for the roof of a car, truck, campervan or motorhome, and a 3m lead.
