Altron AW1697/6 Cabinet Based Square Section Column

Altron AW1697/6 Cabinet Based Square Section Column, 6m, Tilt-down

What it does

The AW1697/6 is a square section CCTV column from the AW1697 tilt-down range. Its base post has a built in cabinet for mounting equipment within the one unit, and the column tilts down so camera maintenance can be done at ground level.

It gives a stable mounting platform for all camera types, carrying up to 25 kg of equipment at the top with a maximum equipment surface area of 0.2 m2. The AW1697 range is generally for light to medium fixed and PTZ applications; where payloads are greater, Altron asks to be contacted.

Where it is used

The column is suitable for installations where the public has access and for restricted access areas. Typical installations include industrial and commercial premises, perimeter detection, utilities sites, schools and universities, and sports stadia.

Installation notes

Allow a column rear clearance of 1700 mm when tilting. The winch part number is DW1000/97, and the column is of modular construction for ease of assembly and installation on site.

Tilt down columns are fixed in the vertical position with an M20/M24 nut on the column retaining bolt inside the secure access hatch, which is then padlockable to stop unauthorised tilting. All camera mounting plates are Ø 127 with 8 No Ø 8.5 equi-spaced on 101.6 PCD.

The column is constructed in high tensile steel and hot dip galvanised after fabrication, with the option of painting over the galvanised finish in colours from BS and RAL colour charts.
