Before You Begin
- Do not leave the mechanical key inside the lock (it may get stuck).
- Replace batteries when the low-battery alarm sounds.
- Read all steps before starting.
- Works on wooden and aluminium doors (35–65mm thick).
- Supports WiFi, PIN, card, fingerprint (optional), and mechanical key access.

How to Install on a Right-Handed Door
Step 1 — Fit Rubber Plate & Strike Box
- Place the waterproof rubber plate on the outside of the door.
- Position and attach the strike box and strike plate.
Step 2 — Fit the Front Panel
- Use the provided template and drill holes.
- Mount the front panel.
Step 3 — Insert Screw Casing
- Feed the cable from front panel through the screw casing hole.
Step 4 — Remove Battery Cover
- Remove the battery cover from the back panel.
Step 5 — Attach Back Panel & Install Batteries
- Fit the back panel, connect the cable, and insert four AA batteries.
Step 6 — Secure with Fixing Screws
- Tighten all screws to complete installation.
How to Install on a Left-Handed Door

3. Initial Setup & Programming
- Reset the Lock (Factory Initialisation)
- Remove back panel cover.
- Hold RESET button.
- Insert batteries while holding RESET.
- Release after 6 seconds.
- Lock resets → master password becomes 123456.
First-Time Use (Trial Mode)
- Any fingerprint works
- Master PIN = 123456#
- After testing, set a secure admin PIN.
Setting the Date & Time
1. Wake the Lock
- Touch the keypad to light up the screen.
2. Enter the Admin Menu
- Enter your admin PIN, then press #
- Example: 123456# (if you haven’t changed it yet)
3. Open the Date & Time Settings
- Press 2 to enter the System Settings menu (you’ll hear a list of options).
- When you hear the option for “Set date and time”, press 1.
4. Enter the Current Date & Time
- Type the full date and time in this order:
YYMMDDHHMM#
- Where:
YY = year (e.g. 25)
MM = month (01–12)
DD = day (01–31)
HH = hour in 24-hour format (00–23)
MM = minutes (00–59)
💡 Example:
If the current date and time is 15 March 2025, 14:30, you would enter:
2503151430#
5. Wait for Confirmation
- After you press #, the lock will say:
“Operation successful” (or similar confirmation).
Adding Users (PIN, Fingerprint, Card)
Enter Admin Menu
- Touch keypad to wake.
- Enter admin password + #.
Add a User
Menu path:
1 – User Management → 1 Add Admin OR 2 Add User → Choose Method:
- Fingerprint
- Card
- PIN Code
Each user is assigned a number 1–300.
4. Wi-Fi & App Setup
Step 1 — Download the App
- Search Smart Life on iOS/Android OR scan QR code (see above image)
Step 2 — Create / Log In to Account
You can register using:
- Mobile number
- Email address
Step 3 — Put Lock in Wi-Fi Pairing Mode
- Press 8 + #
- Authenticate as admin
- Number “5” on keypad will flash
Step 4 — Add Lock in App
- Tap + Add Device
- Select RO2-WiFi Lock
- Connect to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
- Wait for voice confirmation: “Operation successful”
5. Temporary & Remote Unlock Options
A. Temporary Passwords
- Generate in app
- Press 5 + # on lock
- Enter temporary code
B. Remote Unlock
- Press # on the lock to ring doorbell
- App receives a request
- Tap Confirm to unlock remotely
C. Dynamic Password
- Valid for 5 minutes
- If not working → press 6# to update lock time
Auto-Lock & Passage Mode
Enable Passage Mode (Door Stays Unlocked)
- Unlock the door
- Touch 0 for 3 seconds
Enable Auto-Lock Timer
After unlocking, touch:
- 1 = 5 sec
- 2 = 10 sec
- 3 = 15 sec
- 4 = 20 sec

The app will notify you for:
- Doorbell press
- Hijack alarm
- General alarm events
How to Use the Emergency Access Key
If your batteries have died or you need to use your physical backup key, follow these simple steps:
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Locate the Panel: Find the panel located directly to the left of the WME logo.
Note: If you have the Gold version, this is the gold-colored panel.
2. Press Firmly: Press down firmly on this panel.
3. Access the Key: The cover will pop open, revealing the hidden keyhole.
Quick Tips:
- Always keep your physical backup key in a secure location outside of your home (like a car or office).
- If the panel feels stiff, ensure you are pressing directly in the center of the left section.
