Camera Mounts & Brackets

A camera mount or bracket fixes a CCTV camera to a wall, ceiling, pole or corner at the angle it needs, and a junction box behind the camera hides the cable joints. Choosing Camera Mounts & Brackets

Start from the camera model, since brackets and junction boxes are usually made for a specific camera body or series, then choose the surface it fixes to. Some makers sell their own fixing hardware, such as the Honeywell HA35JCBHA1G all-in-one box in black from its 35 range.

Junction boxes

A junction box sits between the camera and the wall, holding cable connections and any surplus cable so nothing is exposed. The Hikvision DS-1280ZJ series includes junction boxes for dome and turret cameras, such as the DS-1280ZJ-DM18 for dome cameras.

Wall, ceiling and corner

Wall brackets such as the Hikvision DS-1473ZJ-155 hold a camera clear of the wall, pendant and drop ceiling mounts such as the B-Tech BT7851/B hang it below a ceiling at 600-1000 mm, and corner brackets such as the DS-1602ZJ-CORNER carry a PTZ or speed dome on an outside corner.

Poles

Pole mounts such as the DS-1275ZJ strap a camera to a post, and the stainless steel DS-1275ZJ-S-SUS fits poles of 67-127 mm. For height, Altron's four wall-mounted poles have a 150 mm stand-off and are 3.0 m (ACP1-150), 4.0 m (ACP2/150), 5 m (ACP3/150) and 6.0 m (ACP4/150) tall. Altron ACC square columns run from 4.5 m to 9 m: the ACC1FBLA fixed-base column is 4.5 m, the ACC2FB 6 m, and the ACC4FB, ACC4BP and ACC4PM 9 m.

Columns and anti-climb

Altron columns come with fixed bases or as tilt-down columns, such as the ACC4PM, whose demountable winches allow maintenance at ground level. Anti-climb guards fit Altron columns and wall poles, top-mount brackets such as the TB4-600F carry up to four cameras, and a template and bolt kit sets the foundation.

How do I stop people climbing a camera column?

Fit an anti-climb guard made for the column or pole. Altron anti-climb guards, such as the SGC1 for ACC1 columns and the SGC3 for ACC3 columns, are galvanised and fit around the shaft, and the SGP2 fits the ACP2 wall pole.

Can a PTZ camera go on a building corner?

Yes, with a corner bracket rated for its weight. The Hikvision DS-1602ZJ-CORNER is a long-arm corner mount for PTZ and speed dome cameras rated 10 kg, and the DS-1602ZJ-BOX-CORNER combines the corner mount with a junction box, so the cable joints are housed at the camera.

How do I mount a camera below a ceiling?

With a pendant or drop ceiling mount. The B-Tech BT7851/B adjustable drop ceiling mount is telescopic from 600-1000 mm, and Aritech pendant and ceiling mount brackets, such as the TVMIPM and TVD-PPB, hang a camera below a ceiling or soffit. Pick the pendant made for the camera series.

What is a camera wall mount used for?
