TP-Link Products

TP-Link products on this page cover networking and video surveillance: VIGI InSight network cameras and VIGI NVRs, desktop, easy managed and managed PoE switches, Wi-Fi 7 access points, 4G and DSL gateways and routers, powerline kits, a multi-mode fibre module and a camera junction box. Omada devices such as the ES205GP switch and the EAP773 access point can be managed from the cloud or through the Omada app.

Choosing TP-Link Products

Start with the job, recording cameras, powering devices or spreading the network, then size the product to the number of cameras, ports or rooms.

VIGI cameras and recorders

VIGI InSight network cameras come in bullet and turret bodies. Full-colour models include the 5MP InSight S355 bullet and the 8MP InSight S485 turret, and the InSight S345ZI adds a 2.7–13.5mm motorised lens with 5x optical zoom and 60m IR. VIGI NVRs run from 4 channels on the NVR1004H-4P to 64 channels on the NVR4064H. The NVR1004H-4P has PoE+ ports and 4K HDMI output, and the NVR2016H-16MP has 16 PoE+ ports with a 140W PoE budget.

PoE switches

Desktop PoE+ switches suit small camera systems: the LS105GP has 4 PoE+ ports on a 65W budget and up to 250m PoE range in Extend Mode, and the LS1210GP adds a Gigabit SFP uplink to its 8 PoE+ ports. Easy managed Omada switches such as the ES205GP add cloud management, VLAN and IGMP snooping. For larger sites, the ES220GMP rack switch has 16 PoE+ ports on a 250W budget, and the SG3452XMPP has 40 PoE+ and 8 PoE++ ports with a 750 W total budget and 4 x 10 Gbps SFP+ slots.

Wi-Fi, gateways and powerline

The EAP773 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point with a 10G PoE++ port, and the EAP783 has 2× 10G RJ45 ports. For internet access, the DR3650v-4G Omada gateway combines AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 and VDSL2 with 4G+ Cat6 on dual Nano SIM slots, and the Archer MR600 is a 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 dual band router. Powerline kits use existing electrical wiring: the TL-PA8033P KIT reaches up to 1300Mbps with 3 gigabit ports.

Frequently asked questions

Which VIGI NVR do I need?

Pick one with at least as many channels as you have cameras, and with PoE ports if the cameras should take power from it. The NVR1004H-4P records 4 channels with PoE+ ports and 4K HDMI output, the NVR1008H-8MP has eight PoE+ ports, and the NVR2016H-16MP powers 16 cameras on a 140W PoE budget. For bigger sites, the NVR4032H supports up to 40TB of local storage.

Do VIGI cameras show colour at night?

Yes, several full-colour InSight models do. The InSight S485 turret has full-colour night vision, the InSight S385 bullet gives 24-hour colour visibility at 8MP, and the InSight S355 offers full-colour 24/7 imaging at 5MP. The InSight S345ZI and S445ZI are IR models instead, with 60m IR night vision and a 2.7–13.5mm motorised lens with 5x optical zoom.

Which TP-Link switch should power my cameras?

Count the cameras and their power draw, then choose a switch with enough PoE+ ports and budget. The LS105GP has 4 PoE+ ports on a 65W budget with up to 30W per port, the LS108GP has eight PoE+ ports on 62W, and the TL-SG1218MP has 16 PoE+ ports on a 250 W budget. The LS105GP reaches up to 250m in Extend Mode for distant cameras.

What is TP-Link Omada?

Omada is the TP-Link line with centralised cloud management. Easy managed Omada switches such as the ES205G and ES208G are managed via the web or the Omada app, the SG2008P JetStream smart switch is integrated into Omada SDN with zero-touch provisioning, and the EAP773 access point is designed for Omada SDN with cloud, app or controller management.

Can I get internet where there is no fixed line?

Yes, with a 4G router or gateway. The Archer MR600 is a 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 router that works plug and play with a SIM card and supports WAN failover. The DR3650v-4G Omada gateway pairs VDSL2 with 4G+ Cat6 on dual Nano SIM slots for 4G/LTE failover, and balances load across DSL, 4G and Ethernet WAN.

How do powerline kits extend a network?

They carry the network through the existing electrical wiring, so a room can be connected without running a new data cable. The TL-PA4010P KIT is a Powerline 600 starter kit with an integrated power socket, the TL-PA7017P KIT reaches up to 1000 Mbps with a Gigabit Ethernet port, and the TL-WPA8631P KIT adds AC1200 dual-band Wi-Fi.
