Pendant Lights

A pendant set is a pre-wired lamp holder on a drop, ready to hang from a ceiling lighting point, which is finished with a lamp and, if wanted, a shade. The Knightsbridge 8270 and 8271 sets hold an E27 lamp; the 8270LAB is pre-wired with a ceiling rose base, and its lamp is not included.

Set lengths vary by model: the 8270AB is a 6 inch fixed-drop holder, and the 8270LAB and 8271LBN have a 1.8m drop. The Dasan heads hang on a 1.25m or 0.75m cable, the TRK track pendants have an adjustable 1.8m drop, and the CALVI3PBC, CALVI5PBC and CALVI5BBC have adjustable drops.

Most take an E27 Edison screw lamp: the 8270 and 8271 sets, the TRK track pendants, the CALVI3PBC, CALVI5PBC and CALVI5BBC, and the SE3P. The Dasan pendants take a GU10 lamp instead, and the DAA1FRB and DAA1FRBC are compatible with Knightsbridge GU10 light sources, dimmable and non-dimmable.

The 8270AB, 8271SB, 8270LPC and 8271PC each have a maximum lamp wattage of 60W and are T2 rated for 60W incandescent or 8W LED. The CALVI3PBC, CALVI5PBC and CALVI5PMB clusters take 40W per lamp, and the Dasan DAB1FRBC takes 10W max.

Yes, if the shade has a 42mm internal ring: most vintage 8271 holders, such as the 8271AB and 8271LPC, take that ring size, and so does the TRK8271BC track pendant. The 8270BN has a 40mm diameter holder, so check the shade before pairing it with a contemporary 8270 holder.

Yes, the TRK track pendants are pre-wired for Knightsbridge TRKxx series track. The TRK8270BC, TRK8270BK and TRK8270W are contemporary and the TRK8271BC and TRK8271W vintage, each with an E27 holder and a 1.8m drop that can be adjusted; the position of the TRK8271W can be adjusted too.

Yes, including the CALVI3PBC, which hangs three vintage E27 lamp holders, the CALVI5PBC, CALVI5PMB and CALVI5BBC, which hang five (the CALVI5BBC along a bar), and the SE3P, a low profile 3 light ceiling pendant. On the CALVI3PBC, CALVI5PBC and CALVI5BBC each drop is adjustable on a 1.8m cable, and each lamp is limited to 40W.

A GU10 pendant head, round on models such as the DAA1FRBC and DAB1FRB, connected with a tool-free cable connector, for homes and hospitality spaces such as restaurants. The DAA1FRB, DAA1FRBC and DAA1FRW hang on a 1.25m cable and the DAB1FRB, DAB1FRBC and DAB1FRW on a 0.75m cable, in black, brushed chrome or white.

Nine: antique brass, anthracite, black nickel, brushed chrome, matt black, matt white, polished brass, polished chrome and smoked bronze, for the contemporary and vintage sets on either drop length. The TRK track pendants are brushed chrome, black or white, the Dasan heads black, brushed chrome or white, the CALVI3PBC, CALVI5PBC and CALVI5BBC brushed chrome, and the CALVI5PMB matt black.

Isolate the circuit, fix the set over the lighting point and connect the supply to its terminals, which take 2 x 1.5mm² conductors on models such as the 8270LAB and 8271LBC. The Dasan heads use a tool-free termination system instead. Any work beyond a like-for-like swap is a job for a qualified electrician.
