Smart Motion & Door Sensors

The sensors here include magnetic contacts that report a door or window opening, glass-break detectors and shock sensors. The range covers wired Ajax Fibra devices such as the DoorProtect Fibra, wireless Jeweller contacts such as the DoorProtect U, shock sensors such as the Pyronix NANO/SHOCK-WE and the Texecom AEL-0001, and the Hikvision DS-PDPG12P-EG2-WE, which pairs a PIR with a glass break sensor.

Decide between wired and wireless first, then what the sensor has to detect.

Door and window contacts

The Ajax DoorProtect U Jeweller 121293.03.WH1 is a wireless contact with a pre-installed CR123A battery, typical battery life of up to 7 years and a radio range of up to 1,200 m in open space. The black 121294.03.BL1 needs an Ajax Hub, sold separately, and the Superior DoorProtect Jeweller 133194.03.WH1 comes with two magnet sizes. For a wired system, the DoorProtect Fibra 44393.03.WH1 has two reed switches, so the magnet can sit left or right, and it needs a compatible Ajax Fibra hub.

Contacts with shock detection

The DoorProtect Plus Fibra adds shock and tilt sensing to a wired contact, with three levels of shock sensitivity and a tilt threshold set between 5° and 25°, and its Fibra line reach is up to 2,000 m over U/UTP Cat.5. On Pyronix systems, the MC1Z2/SHOCK-WE combines a central magnetic reed contact with an accelerometer shock sensor and has two zone inputs. It works with Enforcer, or with EURO through a ZEM.

Shock sensors

The Pyronix NANO/SHOCK-WE is a compact wireless shock sensor that fits within uPVC window or door frames, with pin-hole sensitivity calibration, LED indication and up to 2 years of battery life. Wired options include the Pyronix SHOCK/W, a piezo electric sensor with adjustable sensitivity, latch and reverse polarity protection, and the Texecom AEL-0001 Impaq S G3, certified to EN 50131-2-8 Grade 3, with five selectable digital sensitivity settings and built-in EOL resistors.

Glass-break and PIR

Each Ajax glass-break detector here has a 9 m detection range with about 180° of horizontal coverage, and uses the DualTone algorithm to reduce false alarms. The GlassProtect Fibra is wired, while the GlassProtect S and GlassProtect U are wireless Jeweller devices with a pre-installed CR123A battery. The Hikvision DS-PDPG12P-EG2-WE combines a 12m PIR with an 8m glass break sensor and pet immunity up to 30kg.

What magnets come with the Ajax DoorProtect contacts?

The DoorProtect U 121293.03.WH1 has two magnets: the small one activates at about 10 mm and the large one at about 20 mm. The black DoorProtect U 121294.03.BL1 also has big and small magnets. The Superior DoorProtect Jeweller 133194.03.WH1 comes with two magnet sizes for narrow or larger frames. The DoorProtect Fibra and DoorProtect Plus Fibra include large and small magnets and let the magnet sit on the left or right.

What is in the Smart Motion & Door Sensors range?

It includes Ajax DoorProtect magnetic contacts, wired as the DoorProtect Fibra or wireless as the DoorProtect U and Superior DoorProtect, and the DoorProtect Plus Fibra, which adds shock and tilt detection. For glazing there are the GlassProtect Fibra, GlassProtect S and GlassProtect U glass-break detectors, and the Hikvision DS-PDPG12P-EG2-WE pairs a 12 m PIR with an 8 m glass break range. Which shock sensor here is Grade 3?

The Texecom AEL-0001 Impaq S G3 is certified to EN 50131-2-8 Grade 3. It uses VIBER accelerometer technology for vibration detection, has five selectable digital sensitivity settings and an LED assisted setup, and its built-in EOL resistors simplify wiring. The Pyronix NANO/SHOCK-WE is designed with a Grade 2 accelerometer.

Can a shock sensor fit inside a uPVC window frame?

Yes, the Pyronix NANO/SHOCK-WE is a compact wireless shock sensor that fits within uPVC window or door frames. Its auto-orientation makes installation quick, sensitivity is set by pin-hole calibration with LED indication, and it works with any Enforcer, or with EURO through a ZEM. It is conformally coated for longevity.

Can a door contact work as a door chime?

Yes, the DoorProtect Fibra and DoorProtect Plus Fibra have chime capability when paired with an Ajax siren, and the DoorProtect Fibra can act as a doorbell when the system is disarmed. The DoorProtect Fibra and DoorProtect Plus Fibra also take one third-party normally closed wired detector, which needs its own power.
