About this product

The Advanced TOUCH-10 is a 10 inch touch screen terminal for controlling and viewing a fire alarm network on the standard network type. It suits public areas and sites that want active maps and zone plans. It works with MxPro and AxisEN fire panels and runs on 18-30 V DC.

Key features

  • See the whole system at a glance – identifies zones and devices in fire, test, supervisory and fault
  • Find it on a plan – active maps and zone plans, set up with the DynamixTools MapApp
  • Works with gloves on – a screen designed to work with fireman's glove
  • Control from the screen – evacuate, mute, silence, resound and reset
  • A second supply can be connected – dual power supply inputs, independently monitored
  • Clear status lights – dedicated indicators for Fire, Fault, System Fault, Disabled, Test and Power
  • Easier first fix – a 2 part enclosure with slide-in installation

For installers

  • Power: supply voltage 18-30 V DC, supply current 300 mA. Dual inputs, and a monitored external input for external PSU faults.
  • Mounting: designed to be flush mounted into stud walling. Dimensions H191 x W282 x D80 mm. Surface mounting uses the TOUCH-10-SBB enclosure, ordered separately.
  • Cabling: two-core connection to the network, wire gauge up to 2.5 mm2. 20 mm knockouts, 5 top and 5 rear.
  • Compatibility: works on Advanced's standard network in this version, with MxPro and AxisEN fire panels.
  • Standards: a zone plan display, which Advanced treats as an essential part of BS5839-1.

Frequently asked questions

Which panels does the TOUCH-10 work with?

MxPro and AxisEN fire panels. Do not assume it suits a different range.

Is it for a standard or a fault tolerant network?

Standard. TOUCH-10 is the order code for TouchControl on a standard network, and the fault tolerant network has its own code.

Does it need a separate power supply?

It needs an 18-30 V DC supply at 300 mA. It has dual inputs, plus an input for fault signals from an external PSU.

Can it be surface mounted?

Yes, with the TOUCH-10-SBB enclosure, which is ordered separately. On its own it is designed to flush mount into stud walling.

Does it work with gloves?

Yes. The screen is designed to work with fireman's glove.

Can it show other content when there is no fire?

Yes. It can run presentations, and defaults to normal operation in a fire condition or if the screen is touched.

Advanced TouchControl 10 Inch Touch Screen Terminal, Standard Network TOUCH-10

What this touch screen terminal does

This Advanced terminal puts fire system control on a large colour screen, away from the panel itself. It is a fire panel and network node in its own right, not only a display.

It suits entrance halls and other public areas, and the facilities staff or engineers who need to see what the system is doing.

How it works

  • Instant filters: these let users pull up fires, faults, disablements, alarms, inputs, outputs, supervisory and network items quickly.
  • Active maps: zone information appears on maps as well as in the menus. The zone plan relevant to where the unit sits can be displayed.
  • Presentation mode: the display can carry your own material day to day, then return to normal operation when needed.

Where to use it

Its environment is indoor and dry, with a working range of -5°C to +40°C. That rules out external walls exposed to rain and unheated spaces that can drop below the range.

Agree the position with whoever is responsible for the fire strategy, because a screen that controls the system needs thought about who can reach it.

What the figures mean in practice

  • Supply current: allow 300 mA for each unit when you size the supply feeding it.
  • Event log: the screen can show 1,000 general and 500 fire events, which helps when someone needs to look back at what happened.
  • Wall aperture: the cut-out has only a small tolerance, from min 270 x 178 to max 274 x 182, so measure before you cut.

Installing it

  • Two stages: the two part enclosure goes in at first fix, and the unit slides in later.
  • Uneven walls: the slots in the side walls allow for adjustment, and there are also fixing holes in the rear.
  • USB access: the touch screen module pulls forward by 35 mm to reach the USB sockets underneath.
  • Solid walls: where there is no stud walling, Advanced offers the TOUCH-10-SBB surface back box, ordered separately.

Planning your system

Check the network type first. This version is for a standard network, so a fault tolerant network needs the separate order code.

The job also needs a suitable power supply for the 18-30 V DC input, and any network cards your panel requires. Check what is supplied with the unit before ordering.
