What it does

The BulletCam HL (5 Mp/2.8 mm) is a wired AI-powered security IP camera with a 5 MP CMOS, 1/2.8" type sensor and a fixed 2.8 mm lens at f/1.6. Its field of view is horizontal: 100–110°, vertical: 50–60° and diagonal: 125–135°, and DORI distance is Detection: 65 m, Observation: 26 m, Recognition: 13 m, Identification: 6.5 m.

Hybrid illumination gives a maximum illumination distance of up to 50 m for both the white LED and the IR LED. Intelligent lighting control automatically adjusts the intensity of IR and white LEDs in real time to prevent overexposure, and True WDR is rated at 120 dB.

The camera detects motion using software image frame analysis, and AI object detection covers people, pets and vehicles. Video codec is H.265, H.264, and video travels over JetSparrow, a fast and encrypted peer-to-peer video protocol developed by Ajax Systems.

Where it is used

Ajax specifies the camera for outdoor and indoor use. Its protection class is IP66, IK08, with an operating temperature range from −30 °C to +60 °C and operating humidity up to 90%.

Installation notes

Power comes from PoE (802.3at/af), with PoE power consumption maximum: up to 7.3 W and average: up to 6.0 W, or from a 12 V⎓ ± 20%, 1 A power supply unit, with 12 V DC power consumption maximum: up to 6.3 W and average: up to 5.1 W.

The network port is 1 × RJ-45 self-adaptive Ethernet (10/100 Mbps). The camera is conformant with ONVIF® Profile G and S and supports HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, IPv4, RTSP, UDP, DHCP, DNS.

It measures 198 × 76 × 76 mm and weighs 550 g. The complete set includes the camera, an installation template, an installation kit and a quick start guide.

Day to day

For visual verification of Ajax alarms, the system allows a scenario in which Ajax detectors trigger selected cameras to start recording; the recorded event goes immediately to the mobile or desktop monitoring app.

The camera supports microSD up to 256 GB; the memory card should be Class V30 or faster, and the card is not included in the complete set. With the corresponding settings, the built-in microphone can record audio at the scene.

All access rights are fully configurable by the device owner. Sabotage protection includes mTLS encrypted connection, authentication via Ajax Cloud, Secure Boot against firmware spoofing and OTA signature verification for secure automatic firmware update.
